My beef with an axe would be if there are a couple zombies and you got it stuck in the head of the first one, the other one would be all over you. If the blade has some stick preventing contour to it, it might be ok though.

Wait, you were afraid of not being able to use a sword because you wouldn't have the strength/stamina to deal a killing blow. Now you are getting axes stuck in zombie's skulls. If you are this strong now maybe you should fight with two axes.

Does anyone know if Herschel's shotgun has any shells left? I swear he shot like 20 of them without ever reloading.

I do like the fact the old guy made it out though...I thought for sure he would go down with the farm.

They showed him reload once.

I was almost as annoyed with this as much as Glen hanging out the window of the car and telling the farm chick to keep it steady while hitting zombies between the eyes. I though for sure he was going to fall out and get eaten, but no dice.

Were you planning on using a shield or a 2 handed axe?

Dual wield simple axe. A large two handed axe really isnt my style. I double up on my axes and use a whirlwhind approach to large groups of surrounding enemies.

I like how this thread turned into "What Would You Do If The Zombie Apocalypse Happened Right Now." My roommate and I always talk about it.

Regarding the show, I think the prison will be a great place for them to hold up now. Concrete walls won't be torn down or busted through like the fence was on yesterday's episode.

I would dual wield axes also but I would be doing more hacking. I would only do a whirlwind in a life or death situation because I think it would make me too dizzy which would lead to my demise.

I would also work on my throwing ability for those instances when you have to save someone.

Herschel is clearly in possession of a magical infinite-ammo shotgun, which also hurt the realism a lot.

And absolutely no recoil on the shots he fired. That old dude knows how to handle a shotgun!

I would expect there to be a lot of threads regarding this over the summer with the upcoming end of the world almost 9 months away now. I am really hoping for a zombie apocalypse because everything else would be lame.

My wife has already informed me that she will be opting out if such a scenario should ever occur. And she has made sure to emphasize on several occasions that she's not kidding.

I'll start one up at some point. I bet we could all work together and make a super fortress to dominate zombies.

Lol...or that old blue pickup bouncing up and down across the lawn. That was the worst strategy. I was also annoyed the kid let the RV get taken so easy. Why not take off when zombies are trying to get in?

Like Hawkeye in Last of the Mohicans. Good strategy.

I go for the two sword approach a la Miyamoto Musashi. Would need to procure the swords and train, not to mention learn how to sharpen them.

There would be so many topics you could cover. I imagine you would have to start with weapons then shelter/fortress. I think food and transportation would have to be next. Also you could also discuss the type of zombies you would encounter. I might be praying for a zombie apocalypse but not the rage zombies in 28 days later. Also I wouldn't want the virus to be able to be carried by animals because I wouldn't want to kill animals and I would still like to be able to eat meat.
