I think when he was rolling around with those walkers he encountered when he met that one guy that lives in the sewers.

This whole season has been put together very poorly. It's like they watched Westworld and said " hey, let's do multiple time lines too"
There is so much jumping around with the storyline that its hard to follow. And its starting to get a LOST-like reputation with introducing new questions but never answering them...
I thought last week's episode was an old-school TWD (i.e. good) but this finale resorted back to the reason why the show is tanking in the ratings. It's like the writers said "let's see how many bullets we can fire without hitting anything or anyone".

I almost feel asleep during the montage of face closeups. I think it was ten minutes long. Enough with that **** WD. All season, stop forcing the drama and actually create it with good writing.
Carl's role has been to tell every adult how wrong they are. Honestly, I think about half the time he opens his mouth in the series has been to tell Rick how wrong he is about everything.
So of course he died from playing with walkers like a childish idiot.
On Talking Dead they said we should be able to figure it out. Apparently I'm not that smart or didn't pay close enough attention. I'm hoping the latter since I was bored out of my mind.
With the recent writing of this show it won’t surprise me if it is something si,pls like all the walkers went into the building through the crash spot and Eugene was the only smart enough one to say, “hey guys let’s go out the back door.” He will say it in some kind of forced monotone computerman way though. And all the fans are expected to say how genius the plot twist was. I love this show, but come on man!

It looked like they blew through the wall (Just like the breach made by the garbage truck) from the inside via a large vehicle, ran over the undead and left.
I wasn't the biggest Carl fan, however what a stupid decision to exit him from the show. Rick's motivation for all of his acts is to protect Carl. Not to mention that the comic storylines are based on Carl going to take over from Rick. They just wrecked the story twice over.
I will keep watching, but TWD just keeps jumping the shark.
After attacks on both Alexandria and the Kingdom, and a road ambush of the Hilltop fighters, let's see, Team Rick only lost one B cast member (and maybe some lookouts). Everyone is basically alive and escaped.
Including an improbable escape by Rick from Negan personally and the Alexandria complex.
OTOH, Team Negan lost the squad chasing the convoy, Michonne's kill, and Maggie's kill. Sounds about right.
At least Carl is hopefully not long for this world. I agree with others that he will go out big.
