This is exactly how I feel about it.

However, wasn't there a flash-forward at the beginning of the season set several years in the future, where things were peaceful? And wasn't Carl in the flash-forward???? That's what makes me believe somehow that Carl may not actually die.

I thought of this too, but also thought it could be a dream of some sort of how Rick envisioned where they could be before all of this went down.

Not sure.

I'm like most of you, though. Getting irritated with the show, but at the same time I am just curious as to what is going to happen so I tune in.

I feel like that was more of a dream rather than a flash forward.
The director said on the TD that Carl’s bite will play out as they always do on the show and he will eventually die. The question is what he does between his bite and death. Hopefully kill Negan so we can move on with this nonsense.

I was excited when I saw the "Flash Forward" because I thought it meant they would end the series this year. So disappointed AMC doesn't know when to throw in the towel.

AMC is going to milk this for all its worth (easy to see on the screen). I read somewhere where they hoped it would go another 10 seasons.

This show is reaching "Walker, Texas Ranger"-levels of ridiculous now. On top of all the things mentioned, I like how they just decided they need to take gifts to Oceanside, so they pull over at the nearest distillery and get a truck full of whiskey. Where has this truck been all season? I guess they decided to save this truck for just such an occasion, even when they were scrambling to find stuff to give to Negan in the earlier episodes.

And why didn't that gal kill Dwight instead of just shooting him in the shoulder? After he setup all the Saviors to be killed in the ambush, wouldn't she want to be able to go back and tell Negan that she killed the traitor? Guess not, but I'm sure Negan will be overjoyed that she nicked him, at least.

And to top it off, the people who set up the ambush didn't worry about tracking her down so Dwight could continue sabotaging the saviors.

To play devils advocate, if he was the only one from that group to return, it might look a little suspicious.

And it was the worst ambush ever designed. All shooters clumped into one area, and only one side of the road. No cross-fire established. If it weren't for Dwight, the Team Rick morons probably would have been killed. At least the Saviors had cover with the cars.

Read recently Carl is only in one more episode, so we all have that to look forward to.

Which will probably be like the 8th episode after the show starts again, because, why not drag out this Negan thing longer?

I think the Negan storyline has been one of the biggest hyped bad guy buildups in TV history that has fallen so flat and the audience can't wait for it to be over.

I like the Negan character, but for god sake, move the story along. No wonder all of Ric's people go off on their own to kill Negan without a plan, they probably want this story line to end too.o_O

It would be a decent strategy to flood them all into that huge assembly room (thanks Daryl) and shoot them from all that scaffolding above. It's not the "genius" they keep describing but it's not far fetched. They had been showing that scaffolding above the room for seasons so it's not too contrived that they could safely stand up there and fire away.

My problem with it is they discussed the shortage of ammo the plan would create and then they fired non stop automatic weapons last night assaulting 2 communities at once. If there's no ammo scarcity issue brought up in the next couple episodes that whole thing is pretty dumb imho.
Yeah, I think they just shot them and used a lot of their ammo. As already mentioned, Eugene and Negan talked about this. Negan even asked him if he could re-supply their ammo, and Eugene said yes, as long as he had the equipment. I don't think they've had time to do that yet, though.

If I remember right, most of the firepower they used on Alexandria was grenade-launcher heavy stuff, not light arms. They probably wouldn't have used that kind of heavy firepower against the herd in their compound. I'm guessing one of the "twists" will be the Saviors are indeed running very low on ammo and are basically bluffing.

I stopped watching this show shortly after Negan was introduced. Just too slow moving. Luckily I've avoided spoilers so I just have one question those of you still watching this show.

Worth catching up on the last 10-12 episodes or is it still pretty boring/monotonous.
