Here is my theory....Meryl somehow rejoins the group. Comes to find that Darryl's character has evolved and has a new "fammily" now. Meryl tries to kill Rick, and Darryl kills Merle with the crossbow.
I can't see what Merles roll is longer term in this show other than to have Darrly kill him.

I agree, Daryl will take out Meryl I'm guessing

Yeah the heads in tanks at the end was super creepy.

& am I the only one who thinks something is up with the tea that they're drinking? They seemed to mention it a few times.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. I found it odd that they mentioned it several times.
Andrea needs to realize that Michonne's instincts got them this far and that they should just get the heck out of there. Of course I doubt the Governor is going to let them just walk out the front gate.

Short term, Merle's roll is cinnamon. Long term, I would guess it's got to be Tootsie.

Seriously though, I think Merle is going to stay the creepy dangerous guy that he is. Even the governor acknowledges that the guy is a loose cannon. I don't think he'll ever rejoin the group but I think he will be reunited with Darryl and one will probably kill the other because Darryl isn't willing to go along with Merle's brand of crazy anymore.

Andrea is such a beat up road *****. I wish they would just kill her off. Going to be really a waste of show space if she starts banging this Governor dude.

The heads were really creepy. I was hoping that someone had read the comics and could shed some light on that.

They killed the soldiers so I am guessing that they have figured out how many people they need to run that compound, and will only take women for breeding purposes. They will never let Andrea or Michonne leave.

I was thinking about why they did that and I thought maybe it was because the governor needs to have complete control over everyone under him and it would be much harder to control a group of trained soldiers who are well armed and may still have some loyalty to the government (or at least the idea of the government if it doesn't actually exist anymore). So he decided to just take them out and avoid any risk. That's my best guess.

Yep, the tea talk especially when talking to the science guy and then later asking if they liked the tea.

Or they represented a heavily armed well organized force in his territory that had to have been traveling for a long time through infested territory - a force that would have met other survivors but didn't have any non-military personnel in their group.

Certainly something that could be reasonably taken as a threat.

Does anyone have a feeling for how far apart the prison and Woodbury are? I know they were near the prison at the end of last season, but I'm not sure how far Andrea and Michonne traveled over the winter. I would assume they have to be pretty close if they're going to merge the story lines soon.

I just figured they wanted the supplies without the extra mouths to feed.

That is the implication that I got. The group wanted the supplies for "us" and couldn't care less about "them." I have a feeling that Andrea and Michonne are a part of the "them" as well.

Looking forward to next week's episode, this season is shaping up really nicely for a Rick vs. Governor, Group vs. Woodbury conflict.

True, but also valuable assets for protection.

I think they are keeping Michonne and Andrea around until they find the rest of the group.

I think they said on Talking Dead that the farm, the prison, and Woodbury were all relatively close. I guess they all spent the last 8 months dodging the heards so much that they really never made that much progress as far as covering ground.
