walkers are not snow. most are walking skin and bones. They would be knocked down and plowed over. Woody Harelson showed how it is done in Zombie land. Just put a snow blade on front and just mow em over. You can do donuts in the field and send them flying as they come also. Heck just give me a Sameri sword and I could take out a ton of them. I'm pretty freaking fast so I would slice and dice and.move before the next one could get me.

He brings up a good point. You would want to be training with a sword of some sort, or other weapon that will remain effective after running out of bullets. That and body armor would be crucial to avoid being bitten. At the least, Leather gloves and clothes. Rick did bring up the advantage of cold weather. I'd head for Canada, eat walleye and let the walkers freeze.

I really think that Rick is immune. He is the "key." Somehow, someway when he was in that state (coma) he was not affected like the rest of civilization. (Perhaps they will get all "biblical" in a sense and he will be a key to finding the cure.)
I think that is what the doc said to him in season one - per his blood test. I don't think the doc said anything to Rick about everyone else being infected either....(when the others die they become walkers without being bitten.) Which explains that Rick didn't know that yet... Example: Looking for ways to kill the prisoner/kid....why would Rick hang him if he knew that he would turn into a zombie?

And what of the baby? Could it be immune? (If it is indeed Rick's) - Or will it be infected? (Shane's) Lori sucks... she could be done in by the "zombie baby."

I keep hearing about how this is a bad idea but I totally agree. Food is going to get scarce everywhere so you might as well head for a place where it is physically impossible for zombies to get you. During a bitter cold snap in any Iowa city you could clear lots of real estate with chainsaws in one day. A few -0 degree days with head lopping patrols and you could get back to almost "normal".

Anyway, it's a plot line I'd like to see explored...

How long does it take for a human body to rot enough to fall apart? At some point there will be no zombies able to walk/crawl or function. I would think they would just dry out.

I hate you all. I watched the first season on Netflix, now totally hooked, but it was after the second season started, and I refuse to watch until I can start from the beginning of second season. I've tried to find a way, but it looks like there's no way to go back and watch all of the season 2 until the season is actually over. Every week I see this thread and want to read it, but force myself not to because I don't want to spoil it. And because of that, I hate you all.

I will not read any responses to this post, so if there is a solution I don't know of, PM me and I'll probably start liking you guys a bit more. :smile:

True, but this doesn't account for the recently dead. I'm not sure where the zombies are going to continue to get their "nourishment" from. Cattle, I suppose but most other animals would be pretty hard for zombies to take down.

If it weren't terrible for the show hanging at the farm for a year or two seems like a pretty good idea. After a while the zombies simply won't "go".

Instead of burning dead zombies, they should be rendering them down to diesel.

Great episode last night! Wow-

So, they're all exposed to the virus....then become zombies after death...

I have a feeling that Rick is immune and that is what the doctor said to him. Perhaps due to him being in a coma? Who knows??? Everyone else is infected somehow.

The final episode is getting the heck out of dodge. The farm is going to be raided by the walkers.... we're going to lose a lot of main characters in this next one.

It would be interesting if it turned out to be something like the plot of this book

Sounds similar to this (terrible) movie. If I remember right they basically quarantine all of Scotland and tell everyone there were no survivors. Interesting idea, but such a bad movie.
