I bet you'll be watching in October...

I hated last night's episode, but I'll keep watching. Some of you guys act like watching these episodes is like pulling teeth. If that's so, then stop! It's a TV show, it's still at least marginally entertaining, and all you have to do is sit on your couch at 9 & fast forward thru commercials.

This.
It bums me out how they ended it because Rick had a typical badass Rick moment after but we don't get to see it.

Story Co.
I was talking to a friend the other day and saying how key characters need to start getting killed off and the show should start wrapping up. It's become the same ol predictable stuff over and over and will be known as one of the more disappointing series if they keep dragging it out for too long. My friend disagreed and said there has never really been a boring or pointless episode, they can't get rid of any of the main characters, and hopefully it just keeps going on and on. To each their own I guess but it seems pretty obvious to me.

It's like we spent the last 6 months trying to figure out who Negan would kill...and now we have to wait another 6 months. Like others have said, good shows don't need to do this. TWD is still a good show but I have no idea what they are doing with these 50 minutes of filler and then cramming everything into 10 minutes at the end.

It was a dumb way to end it, ...on a cliffhanger. Why not show it? I mean, this is the internet generation, someone somewhere will track the actors on set and leak the info anyway. Why not just give it to us, why the ******* tease?

Yeah, this Scott Gimple guy that is on Talking Dead all the time is just an arrogant ***. It's too bad they are ruining this show, could have been great but the writers are just really weak. They hit a good show, and it just exploded, and they aren't equipped as writers to handle it, just out of their league now.

The last scene was terrible, the season was terrible. They are really doing some stupid things and totally selling out in the process. I have been wavering a long time with this show, even on DVR there is so much filler and garbage, it's hard to watch even on DVR. Hard to see me coming back to this thing anymore. it just isn't interesting anymore. Same thing over and over.

Too bad, good idea for a show, it could go on for years, still might, but this has to be the peak for the show.

And that's the thing that really frustrates me the most; I don't think it's been the best TWD season ever, but it hasn't been as bad as Season 2 was. And I am going to disagree with you about the scene; up until the very end I thought it was a great scene, building up the anticipation and establishing Negan as a truly dangerous badass. I think you can certainly ***** about the writing and contrived silly plots (people getting captured over and over again), but one thing I will write is that I feel the acting has been top notch on the show; Jeffrey Dean Morgan nailed that role with limited screen time last night, and say what you want about Carol, but the actress who plays her is a major league talent in my opinion. The direction and execution of the show needs to match the quality of the acting. Sadly, it has not recently.

Add my name to the list of those irritated at that ending. This isn't ******* 'Dynasty.' They've never done a (significant) season-ending cliffhanger in the history of the show and THIS is the year they decide to NOT finish a concept before the credits roll? So stupid. The creators kinda deserve all the social media crap they're going to get (and have already received). It just wasn't necessary to end season 6 this way. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Hey. Remember that one season-ender where everyone got rounded up (you know, with guns firing at them but Rick figured out they weren't trying to kill them, just lead them somewhere) and captured by those really bad guys?
Oh wait, it happened again?? Well at least they don't kill people by making them kneel down and hitting them in the head with base ball bats.... Crap. That too?
Here's to hoping the first three episodes next season aren't following around pre-menopausal Carol as she continues struggling through her hot flashes with her new bestie wandering around with the two spear men.

Sometimes I get bored and fast forward through. Did I miss something in the past episodes? Where did "Jesus" go? Was he killed because they mentioned something about how everyone in that town was dead to the guy they eventually hung.

No, the two guys in horses are from hilltop too. Jesus is fine.

Well, the Negan introduction scene would have been great.... except they went for the lame cliffhanger ending. Clearly a ploy to keep fans talking and drive up hype for the opener. It was a mistake to take that route. It did spark a question - did the writers/showrunners have it planned who will die next year already? Or did they go this route because they couldn't decide which main character to kill off? In my opinion, if it isn't Glenn, Darryl, Michonne, or Maggie, the reveal will be a cop out. I like Abraham but he isn't a major enough character to do this cliffhanger justice.

Prior to that, Negan's intro was great. So much tension, and the actor did a great job. I love that he seemed intelligent, methodical, and in control.

Carol's sub-plot was pretty dumb, but I liked seeing Morgan going off on his own and finding a new settlement with her. He is one of my favorite characters and I much prefer his methods to the main guys who drive out and stupidly get themselves captured repeatedly (OK, that one is really on the writers).

Can we lay off of spoilers for other shows in this thread? Why is that necessary?
