They need to cut each season from 16 episodes to maybe around 10-12. Last night was completely useless.

Yes and no regarding the last couple of weeks. As I noted last week, I am very intrigued by the sight of a helicopter. And this week, Janus marking the shipping container with an "A" has me curious. Is there a link between Terminus and the garbage kids that I have missed?

On the other hand, the following remains completely infuriating:

(a) The ignorant language of the garbage pail kids.

(b) wtf does everytime Rick leave, individual people think it is OK to just leave the group, tell no one where they are going, and go off by themselves? Carl, Carol, Michone/Rosita, Daryl/Tara. Pls, stop it. The fact you happen to stumble upon weapons cache just makes it all the more unreal.

But might be nice to see Daryl and team rain RPG's down on garbage kids in a week or two.

The biggest problem with the show is it has no show runner. AMC runs the show and just put's the guy in place it wants. If you look at great shows (Breaking Bad, Sopranos, etc.) they all had very talented and strong show runners. Show runners/creators that cared more about the legacy of the show than how much money can be squeezed out of it. The show could be so good if was nearly the end, so much could be told but because they have made the decision to keep it going until it no longer is profitable, we get the crap show it's turned into.

I REALLY wish Frank Darabont had not been fired. He was the exact type of show runner that would of been excellent. But AMC pushed him out so the network itself could be in charge. Pretty sad really.

Bad guy: "You're not really going to use that."
Rosita: "Challenge accepted"
I'm thinking it was the two words PRECEDING "You're not really going to use that" that set Rosita off. I think it was "little girl..." but whatever the actual term was, my comment was "Oh, you REALLY didn't want to call her that..."

Isn't Scott Gimple the TWD show runner? Or are you saying he isn't much of one?

Sounds like the wife and I made the right decision to jump off this sinking ship last season. They could probably get us back by announcing a final season but until then it doesn't sound like I'm missing out on anything.

I completely forgot to even watch last night. Guess that shows where I'm at with it.

I agree that the show hasn't always been good but I'm not close to quit watching it and still thinks it's one of the most entertaining shows on TV. My least favorite season was the 2nd one where they spent the whole time on the farm.

Also keep in mind that it's still number 1 in cable viewership after 8 years.

Yes - Scott Gimple is the current show runner (4th one they've had I believe) and like I said, he isn't much of one. He is pretty much told what to do. He could very well be a good show runner but without the power to make the true creative decisions as far as the show goes he's pretty much powerless and useless.

When you have a show that has no end (until it stops being profitable) you really end up with a show with no direction or purpose. It's just constantly trying to move the plot along without ever resolving anything or having an arc to the story. It's pretty much what we are left with now...a show with no plot arc or direction other than to keep going.

Viewership is tanking pretty hard right now. There are millions of us that are disappointed and losing interest.

Totally on the Negan bandwagon after tonight. Screw Rick, Daryl and their gang of murderers. Negan sees people as a resource. To Rick, people are cannon fodder

That was simply awful, again. On a brighter note, who's ready for a war?!?! I'm pretty pumped for an episode of unlimited ammo flying through the air with nobody getting shot. It should be fun with an added 30 minutes of commercials. At least we'll have something crazy happen with 30 seconds remaining in the show to keep us guessing until January.

Sigh.

Yeah, they teased the "Big Shock" for the next episode, to just get more ratings for the mid season finale, which is just horrible. The point of a "Big Shock" is to not see it coming, have it catch you off guard, and keep you talking about it for weeks because it was such a WTF moment. Now, we all know something is coming and it will only be a let down no matter what it is. People will speculate all week on it. Will Carl die? (Chandler Rigs has talked about leaving the show for college). Will Eugene die? Will Negan die? Will Rick die? Will Daryl die? Some of these are outrageous (i.e. Rick dying), but we will speculate so much, not matter what the show does, it will be a let down.

I bet this "Big Shock" is none of those, hence the let down and this happens...

Negan Doesn't Die

I think that will be the "Big Shock", in that not only does Negan not die in the showdown at Alexandria that was shown in next week's preview, but it is Rick that wants him saved and put in jail. The theory comes from the comics and how All Out War plays out there. In the comic, Rick and Negan fight, hand to hand, towards the end of the confrontation. Negan breaks Ricks leg, but Rick is able to swipe a knife across Negan's neck in the scuffle. As Negan is bleeding out, Rick implores Denise (the doctor who is dead on the show) to save Negan. Rick wins the fight, by mortally wounding Negan, but decides he wants Negan to live, to show him they can build a society where no one is oppressed, no one has to kill other humans, and everyone can get along.

Of course, I could be way off, but while they like to talk that they won't do the comic page for page, they often go back and hit the big notes almost verbatim. I could see another cast member dying along with the war being over and Negan being saved, but I think the big deal will be that Negan lives after it looks like he will die.

Or the war will continue another eight episdoes and they lose even more viewers, since who can take another 8 episodes of garbage people and Eugene in the Sanctuary? :(

I just wish they’d go back to having zombies be the real threat on a zombie show. I can’t remember the last zombie death before the flood went into the sanctuary last night, and they barely showed the only zombie bite there was. Zombies portray no real threat and are used more as a weapon for humans rather than them being the danger. And what is with fear the walking dead. They are like 2 months into the apocalypse and have already destroyed like 4 places and are murdering each other left and right. I would hope that in real life things would take longer than that for ppl to go all berserk.

Is Coral still outside playing with his new friend while everyone else is a little busy with this war thing? Maybe he can invite him over for supper tonight? That is if Rick can get home in time....

DOWN GOES CORAL!
DOWN GOES CORAL!

Carl is now dead
Not yet...
On the Talking Dead, the director kind of made it sound like he’s going to have one more big role. Kind of like a “go out with a bang” type of moment for Carl. He’s deserves to go out BIGLY rather than just slowly turning and rotting away.
