No ones saying you aren’t, people just take umbrage when it is implied players don’t care or don’t show effort. But you didn’t mean it that way so no harm no foul.

Scheme was a major issue. There’s no way we should’ve been in a zone against a team like UCONN who can hit from literally anywhere. That’s why man to man defense exists. It’s not surprising it’s gotten much better since then.

As someone pointed out in another thread…last years team…the one that made the Big 12 final and advanced in the tournament…was 7-4 in the preseason.

Hoping for a similar outcome/pattern.

One thing about it…I don’t think I’ve ever seen a hotter team from deep than UConn was in the first. ISU has done similar things in the past with 4-5 treys in a row, but holy cow…10/11 might be tough to beat from a viewership standpoint. Just have to give credit where it’s due.

Tournament and showcase TV games, not like we did a home and away with either team. Given Fennelly's preference I doubt we would not have played either.

Don’t talk facts..all anyone wants to do is criticize…my take on that.::don’t watch!! They got smacked by a team unconscious from 3 and playing them off a loss, just like SC…then we the Iowa game and saying we were so bad…as we led for 3 quarters…preseason number 8 was lofty when a team is starting 4 sophomore’s! Do things need fixed?? Heck yea!! But I get tired of the “we just suck crowd!” Nauseating!

We just outscored them 25-18 in the 2nd quarter. Effort was there. Can't have it both ways, we actually played a pretty good 2nd quarter. The first was the issue.

Yes, we won the 2Q. And yet we remain down 19 because of the 1Q.

“You simply cannot chalk up this sort of effort tonight” is just too broad a statement. Yes the 1Q was bad, more so because of UConns unconscious shooting. If that is what you’re talking about say that

I don't overreact to one game but not exactly a ton of game results that would lead me to be optimistic.

You could make a pretty easy argument we're the 4th best team in the state.

Yes, in part due to UConn’s shooting, no doubt. But we refused to adjust. Effort includes scheme and adjustments, imo.

UConn is good and they are not letting off the gas. If they have a single starter in in the 4th, I will not feel bad about any UCONN injury.

We are playing UConn and USC because Bill thought we had a top 10 team. They likely wouldn’t do a home and away with Iowa State. No real benefit to them. I’m sure Bill wanted to challenge his team.
