Drake down 20 to 2-3 Wyoming today. We have a lot of issues. Plenty of talent to overcome those issues but it’s not very rosy right now for the ladies.
Drake just lost to Wyoming 71-57. Dinnebier had 5 points on 2-7, 0-2. 1-2
I agree there’s been progress. But it’s still not great. I’ll refrain from offering my opinion on the women’s game overall
And TBH, I haven’t been impressed with South Carolina. They’re shooting less than 40% from the field and 30% from 3. They could be up 50.
Agreed…they aren’t a juggernaut, but if you don’t have strong guard play vs them, you’re in trouble! They are quick & athletic and when the officials allow them to body you and put hands on 35 ft from the hoop. They are a problem!
Honestly this is just really embarrassing. We certainly don’t belong. Unfortunately we have two more games this noncon we are going to get blown out too.
I actually follow Women’s b-ball pretty close and believe it or not Wyoming has a decent team and Drake fell asleep.

Guard play…I’ve been saying it. They don’t guard well, Ryan isn't shooting well. The other guards are meh IMO and they can’t get the ball inside.

Yes, but I’ve felt it’s time for Bill to go a few years ago. He has had some good classes come in, but is still is unable to achieve more. He’s a legend but time to find someone else lead the program I believe. Those two games to UNI and Drake finally solidified it for me and this is just embarrassing. Apologies for saying it.
This is a huge wake up call and it’s possible we don’t get to where we thought we might this year. No sugarcoating what happened today, but this is South Carolina. Last year we lost some clunkers against worse teams. It doesn’t say anything about what happens in a month or two months, but is definitely concerning for what it is. I would just implore not to draw far-reaching conclusions off a really poor game against one of the best teams and coaches in the country. There’s a lot to figure out and there should be questions asked *if* this doesn’t improve, but I think that game against Iowa is going to be a good one to watch to see if we are making adjustments from this game.

This team is decent. Top 25-35ish.

When we saw SC and UConn on our schedule plus the high preseason ranking, I think our expectations for this team became unrealistic. We are a solid team, but not the improvement from last year to this year many expected.
This game should be a great lesson about intensity and aggression for the length of the court. On ball and away from the ball. South Carolina’s effort was completely dominant.
Why did the Cyclones seem to have confusion about who was going to inbound the ball after South Carolina baskets? Too many times Ryan had to wait for someone to come back to inbound the ball.
