Gotta love the "think like me, act like me or you are a bad fan and person" posts. Well, not really, good grief, people have opinions that are not going to match yours and you don't get to throw everyone out of the club that doesn't agree with you. Start your own country club and assign yourself as membership director. Think you should be saying "I" not "we"

Well, most people seem to fit into 1 of 2 camps. There are the people who post an endless thread of negativity who feel like they are actually accomplishing something by not being apathetic about the circumstances surrounding this team. Literally everything they post reflects how bad things are and they look for anyone and anything that can be the next scapegoat because the current scapegoat has been beaten like a piñata, and there's nothing left to bash. Then there is the rose colored glasses group who perpetually "pump sunshine up people's a**es" trying to get others to see the light. These people are accused of constantly turning a blind eye to what's going on with ISU football, and regularly refer to "next year...". We all at least lean towards one group or the other, if not fully embody the characteristics of a particular group. I see both sides defend a point of view while being attacked by the other. If you found yourself getting ****** about the description of a particular group, maybe you are starting to identify too strongly with one side or the other. I know I'm guilty of it at times. But when things are this polarized, usually the truth of the matter lies somewhere in the between the extremes. I've been on several forums over the years and this is by far the nastiest I've been a part of. We all want the same thing...I think. In the words of Rodney King, "can't we all just get along?". I kid...I kid...that would get boring.

Yeah cuz that fat ****** is just dying to come here. Sometimes I feel like you guys are brain damaged. Like the guy I recently read that said he'd take Mike Leach if CPR got fired. Well no kidding. Too bad Mike Leach wouldn't take us.

You can make your point without the insults. Knock it off or leave...if everyone is brain damaged, why do you keep coming here?

Sorry I'm frustrated with people that lack perspective. We have what we need here right now. Quit wishing these guys away for people that don't want to be here anyway. CPR loves ISU, the players & us. That's all we need.

Is this real life?

Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the scoreboard and see
I'm just a poor fan, I need no sympathy
Because wins are easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the score goes, doesn't really matter to me, to me

Fans, we just lost a game
Should have cheered when we were ahead
Pulled our injured starters, now were dead
Fans, the game had just begun
But now we’ve gone and thrown it all away
Fans, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time on Saturday
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters.
Pulled our injured starters, now were dead

I'll take people who still care enough to complain over those who have lost all hope and don't give a damn anymore.

The whole "You're either with us or against us" thing is so 2004 anyway, isn't it?

Cuz not complaining = no hope and not giving a damn. Hmmm.

Edit - Cuz not continuously complaining = no hope and not giving a damn. Hmmmm!

Fire away...ok...

Ending....I'm not on the fire CPR bandwagon. I think we need him. But at this point, I'd say if he can't get us to 6-7 wins within the next 2 years, especially since we have all of this young "talent" as you call it, then his string is pretty short at that time. He has 2 more years of only winning 2-3 games, and he's gone. He's obviously a great motivator, but to succeed at ISU, you have to develop talent over a 3-4 year period. As much as I hate to admit it, that's why Ferentz has the success he does. It's at that point you can have 5-8 wins per year, which I'm fine with. And sometimes the stars align and we win 9 or more, and sometimes we fight injuries and we win 4. But today, from what I've seen from every game except Tulsa and Texas, the Cyclones have easily been the worse of the 2 teams on the field. Complaining or not, that is just not acceptable after 4 years on the job.

Fire away

This is where I am. Im still behind CPR, he seems to be a guy that "blue collar" players can get behind and want to play for. I also think he relates well to fans and the "midwestern" attitudes of hard work and dedication etc.

This season is a disaster. It started terribly and quite honestly outside of Tulsa and Texas we have looked almost as bad since then as we did against UNI. Completely outmanned and outmatched. Yes the injuries have no doubt taken their toll and with a young inexperienced team to begin with they have magnified the fact that ISU still doenst have the talent/depth or at minimum the product on the field doesnt suggest that ISU has the ability that it needs to get into the top half of the B12.

If ISU would have been "healthy" (minimal or expected level of injury) things MAY have been different. Perhaps the UT game, and the TTU game (Missing Watson against TTU had and impact).

They are not bad people by any means, I just feel bad for their constant roars of negativity and the whole everything I see sucks attitude. I'm also not throwing any body out of any club nor do I think people should act or think like me (what a scary world it would be) I am simply stating that if they/you are "so done with waiting til next year" then take your ball and go home, no one is stopping you. Just don't be shocked when the next en devour in your life feels like your avatar, Lucy pulling the ball away from Charlie Brown because your life's glass is always half empty. Instead take a different perspective, or don't, its your life. Simply a suggestion is all.

A guy told me one time, "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner."

This season has been a series of unfortunate events, but to not be mad at the results so far is not logical. I understand about the injuries and where the team is right now. What I can not forgive is the way this team started the year like they really had no desire to win. Against UNI and Iowa the Clones were absolutely punished, looked unprepared, almost clueless at times. That unprepared team is on the coaches, not the players. Everyone acts like the ISU coaches are volunteers for a Pee Wee team. They are highly paid coaches that should be able to put a decent game plan together. Still waiting for that to happen this season.

This is why there is so much frustration. The improvement in the second was not much. The enthusiasm on the field was limited. Having a three and out offense really chaffed some butts in the seats. The thought of post season was quickly erased. We kept hearing the pump up smoke about how good things were developing, and then what we see on the field is the same old stuff from the Liberty Bowl. Have some wide receivers and defensive backs drop so many passes are game killers. It just looks rudderless out on the field. Losing Wimberly, Bibbs II, Dika, and Knott seems like major problems, like we have no one to fill in to provide the same. This team is trending downward and it needs to turn it around immediately. We need a healthy Sam and a returning Scott. We need all the parts we can get. So, yes, we are concerned, while sitting as the worst team in conference to this point.

1. Mangino is a coach at Youngstown State. We could probably hire him if we wanted to. 2. You act like nobody wants to coach Iowa State. This is ludicrous. We could offer the best coach in FCS (Craig Bohl) 10x his current salary (he might win his third title in a row).
