This team has won one game, and lost bad to UNI. We can be upset. We can want changes. This oh well lets wait till next year **** gets old. I have been waiting for next year for the last 12 years and really it hasn't got a lot better. 2 things that are really getting on my nerves. One is all the ******* excuses, from fans to the staff. Just say it admit it this team isn't very good. When things are not good changes have to be made. 2nd is fans telling me I have to be ok with a team that sucks. I hate to lose, I hate to wait, I hate getting my *** kicked.

If you are happy with an offense that is ranked in the bottom 90 of every category, what is wrong with you. If you are ok with the staff doing the same old thing week after week, thinking for some reason it will all of a sudden work, what is wrong with you. All these coaches get paid a lot of money to do their jobs, they need to get the job done or be ready to look for a new job. I have 85% faith in CPR, but there are coaches on this staff that should in no way be back next year, if they are back, my faith in CPR getting the job done at ISU really will fall.

Sigh...

This team is bad, they are what their record says it is. There will be accountability AFTER the season, or a big part of the fanbase will lose faith in Paul Rhoads. NOBODY that I have read here has disputed any of this.

But what purpose does it serve? Other than being one of those "people" that isn't happy unless making others as miserable as you are.

But, Courtney Messingham will be on the staff through the next 5 games, as will Bill Bliel. Their fate will be determined after the season.

The fact that noone seems to ever understand that simple fact. and comes on here firing away, is what makes this nonsense posts like these, and constant ******** and whining is old.

Hey IF no changes are made after the season, then I will be critical also. But from today until after the WVU game, this is the team that we will put on the field, and these are the coaches that will lead them. That is the fact of all of this, and all of the complaining in the world won't change anything.

All of this comes down to culture. As an example, when someone walks into Busch Stadium, they expect quality baseball and a winning product on the field. When someone walks into Kauffman Stadium (last decade or so) or Marlins Ballpark, they expect nothing, and it can be felt in the air. For the first time in my time as an Iowa State fan, I walk into Jack Trice Stadium and see/hear/feel people EXPECTING to win; EXPECTING to be competitive; EXPECTING to turn the corner as a program, and they are MAD when this doesn't happen. There is a different, newer, more passionate buzz in the air. This is a good thing. This is one of the biggest steps of Iowa State turning the corner. This mindset of "we don't need you" displayed in this thread is the acceptance of mediocrity, and contributes to the overall culture of mediocrity that has plagued Iowa State since its inception as a football program. Iowa State NEEDS any fan they can get, and needs them to have expectations for this program, and be frustrated, mad, and vocal about their displeasure with the quality of play on the field exhibited in 2013. Players feed off of fans, and they feed off of the culture that exists around a team, a program, department, or institution. I'm not telling anyone to boo a team off the field, but saying "we don't need you" to fans expecting this program to keep rising with the momentum that comes with record wins, record crowds, and an overall rise in the stature of the program is accepting this program returning to its original status quo of an irrelevant bottomfeeder.

If you continue to willingly consume a product for 12 years that has let you down this many times and caused you this much misery, I think the source of your anger is not coming from said product.

What are you talking about. Every fan on this site has been through the ups and downs of ISU. Most fans are frustrated with it.

I agree with most of the OP, but not the thread title. Well, at least the second half of the thread title.

I don't mind people being negative, but the fact that they carry it in to every single thread, even basketball threads, is just pathetic.

I have been consistent. Anyone with any analytic or logic could see after the Liberty Bowl that there needed to be changes. There were none. Everybody collected salaries that were magnitudes higher than _______(I just deleted my least-liked generic income-collectors).
We are not playing good football.....it is Walden-triple-option bad.

A good friend always uses this saying to fans of his own team who got too negative on a bad year and I can't help but agree with him lately after reading many posts.

Let me remind you all something.

-We as fans all want more. Always have and always will. 11-1 we would want to be 12-0.

-Our team and staff have gone to bowl games in 3 of the last 4 years?

-This forum was lit up at the start of the season wondering what "dragon" we were going to slay this year for an upset....... Last time I checked we still have games to play and we have "slayed" with our back ups before. Thank you Tiller and J.B. for your hard work.

-I heard jokes how Chuck Norris wears Paul Rhoads underwear

-I read "Quick extend Rhoads contract before he leaves!!!"

-I've had conversations of "We finally got a guy who wants to stay in Ames."

Fast Forward 2 months -> We want to fire every single person?

As far as I can see we have a lot of good things going for us and I feel bad for those who can not see it or are to angry to look for it. Unfortunately progress doesn't always carry over into the Win and Loss column and you can not prevent injuries, transfers, or the foolish mistakes of young men.

So I'll end with this if you want to complain about the team. We dont want you and we dont need you.

Fire away

this is year the dragon was Tulsa.

So, fans have concerns and express them, they should leave? This worked well for bowling.

This is a forum for discussion, good and bad.

Actually, when fans lose the reason to post then we should be afraid, very afraid, as this means apathy, and as such they do not care anymore.

Who knows what the future holds and this is aprocess. Win some, the process is positive, lose more, it will continue.

I hope for all success, but there certainly are question marks. I had a fan approach me, a good and long time donor, who said, with tickets and donation (only for fb), I pay an average of $500-$600/game for this before I begin to enjoy the tailgate. Why?

That is the question being asked by many, at all levels of income and donation/ticket investment.

I want this program to succeed, but this is a valid discussion point.

I'd tell them to remember it's a donation.

Fair enough, and they would tell me it is entertainment and a donation and they have lots of choices of where to make real donations.
