the logic is crappy on seeding, "we will reward you for playing tougher non-con games. So how are the little guys going to be able to work up in this? No good teams are going to want to give any smaller schools a chance. Its all about the money IMO. This was seeding to make it less likely to get smaller schools in the future. I'm betting several schools that get paid to go places like IC and Ames are going to have a much tougher time making the budgets work.

Agreed. Big schools trying to push little schools out... but little schools are the heart and soul of March Madness. They just don't get it.

So we were No. 25 going into the Big 12 and we are essentially no. 32 in the tourney. People think losing one game to a tourney team should drop us 7 spots in the overall rankings? I don't buy it. Yeah we didn't help ourselves in KC but being the third best team in the Big 12 over the course of the season should hold some weight.
Actually that is exactly what happened. our RPI is 32 as of today, which is right where the placed us

We deserved an 8? KSU got an 8. Baylor, who we finished ahead of in conference play got a 3. Yes, if we would have beat tx, we would have gotten higher, but we deserved higher anyway.

This is why it HAS mattered over the last couple of months that we got ranked. Because rankings = respect. Those that don't get respect have a harder route. The 99-00 team didn't get respect all year (what some call flying under the radar) and what did it get us? Not a #1 seed like we deserved. We got a #2 seed and had to play Michigan State in Michigan in the elite 8, instead of playing them in the final four on a neutral court. Rankings and respect do matter people. If you don't get respect, you end up playing UCONN and then Kentucky in Kentucky.

Again, I know we could have avoided this by beating Texas, but if you look at our body of work, we shouldn't be in this situation. From now on, Cyclone Nation needs to command respect, and not keep saying we'll fly under the radar and be alright. Screw under the radar!

Yeah, we would shock the world if we beat the defending national champs and UK.

Dumb ***

If we beat UK no one will give a flying **** about the UConn game. Winning the national championship last season has no bearing on this season.
