Our offensive game plan against UNI has been laughable multiple times. Running into a stacked box, no creativity. Hopefully Nate changes that narrative

Best case scenario is ISU wins 12-10 behind four FGs from two kickers. Worst case a ISU misses a couple of those FGs

It’s a ‘macho’ coach attitude IMO.

You tell your team that we’re going to go out there and smash these guys in the mouth and out physical them and run the ball down their throats!

But then the opponent stacks the box on you, and you find yourself running into walls…. but if you change your game plan it’s like admitting defeat in the coaches minds. So they stubbornly keep doing it.

UNI will sell out, stack the box, and shut down our running game. And CMC will stubbornly believe we can, and should, be able to run it down their throat, and will run our RB's right into their wall all game long. So unfortunately, it will likely be close and come down to the end.

CMC plays the worst possible offense against both UNI and Iowa... plays right into their hands. You will need to spread UNI and Iowa out, make their LBs cover our WR's and TE's and run sideline to sideline... but instead we will run, run, run... right into stacked boxes.
Hopefully with Nate now as OC there is some different adjustments made

Feels like a game UNI gets a early 10 point lead, ISU defense figures them out, ISU offense ties the game with 2 minutes left, UNI QB scrambles on last drive four times and puts them in a long field goal opportunity with 8 seconds left, the ball is hiked, the hold is good and the kick is.....

If that happens we're in big big trouble all year defensively. Unless of course the scores come from our offense or ST which I could see happening.

Not necessarily. Heacock's defenses have given away easy points early in the game then his adjustments shut down opponents in the 2nd half.
You're right I was being a little over the top lol

I can see a world in which UNI has maybe one really nice offensive drive all day, probably early on. And then it's lights out. They struggle to move the ball and only score again if given a short field, which could happen a time or two...or three. The scouting report above is great, but that is some real sunshine pumping BS. Iowa State is better. They just need to be better on gameday. Something along the lines of 21-16 Iowa State sounds about right. UNI is stuck on 10 for a long time and scores a TD late, fails the 2 pt conversion and it's game. Iowa State scores 3 TDs after missing a FG attempt early. Campbell immediately resorts to going for it on 4th down inside the UNI 40, which is why only TDs are scored.

I don't know how many times it takes to try running straight up the middle and getting nowhere to decide it's not working, but we have never reached that threshold for some reason.

I’ll be honest this reminds me of 2004. Young ISU team that not much is expected from. UNI feeling confident. 23-0 later and it was decided talk was cheap

Who knows what's going to happen and obviously UNI has won this game before, but I'm starting to get a strong feeling that we may blow em out. It's mostly coming from all of the hype UNI's QB is getting as well as the disrespect Iowa State has been getting by the media and such. I'm not saying that ISU deserves any respect or hype, I'm just saying I will not be surprised if our guys and staff come out with a huge chip on their shoulders and win by 4+ scores.

The only thing you can really say about this early-in-the-season series is that ISU typically makes UNI look great. But they aren't.

I like it. I am just not sure how our offense is going to score 4 times. LOL
