Hawkeyes have to be glad about this since we are their signature win of this season.
Now they can brag that they beat a top 25 team!

You'd think so, but most of the froth I've seen from their fingers on the internet has been misspelled condemnations of the AP poll: if Iowa State can be ranked in it, the medium has no merit.

Where did our southern tier of counties go? We had some in Texas and Oklahoma last time I saw the map.

You might be referring to the territory map. Where if you beat a team you claim their territory. This is showing closest top 25 team to each county in the US. Both maps are interesting to see.

Interesting how little territory Alabama has, considering it's No. 1. I know it depends on geography of your opponents, etc., not "power," but it's intriguing.

Interesting list from the site:

Number of Territories for Each Team (thru week 8)
18 Miami
11 Arizona
10 UCF
8 Georgia
7 LSU Penn State
6 Alabama TCU Arizona State
5 Michigan State USF Ohio State
4 Iowa State Stanford
3 Memphis Oklahoma State Boise State South Alabama
2 NC State Notre Dame Toledo Jacksonville State Wisconsin
1 Marshall FAU Southern Miss Boston College WKU James Madison
