Well, that's not good. But, maybe it's a blessing in disguise (trying to see the positive here)? Maybe it will allow Wigginton to see some quality development minutes at point? One thing about Wigginton, as much as I am very thankful he's on the team, he just doesn't seem to possess a point guard's court vision and misses a lot of passes to teammates with a sliver of opening. Hopefully this will be a chance for him to work on that. If he wants to make it in the pros, seems to me he needs to improve his PG skills. What a great opportunity.

Rest up, Babb. We'll miss you, but hopefully you get this time to heal.

I'm trying to find the box score, but the internets are failing me.

I did find a summary of the game that included this:

ISU was coming off an 11-point home loss to Detroit Mercy. This game was on Christmas eve in Puerto Rico, the first game of a 3 game tourney there.

Only the worst dregs of humanity dredge up the past at times like this.

This is gonna be the kind of game where we get called for more fouls than West Virgnia even though they literally foul at all times.

Seems like a good game for Prohm to get his team fired up by getting a T, heck I wouldn't even mind him getting ejected against those Thugs if it lights a fire under his guys.

Next man up. If team was making a title run this would be pretty devastating.
When you are not expected to have any post season aspirations, just a chance to mix and match some new lineups.

Remember when Long was dropping 3's I think on Boise State? Maybe it was someone else. Give em a look.

That was against Tulsa.

Tulsa is now 4-5 in the American Conference for 8th place.

Lee Love and Jerry Curry instead of Gerrod Henderson and CJ Burton. Thanks, NCAA.

Billy Tubbs was at TCU then, and they actually were pretty good. I recall them having Lee Nailon who spent time at Southeastern CC.

If this were something where the team was surging and playing like an NCAA tourney team, it would be disappointing.

It's mainly too bad for NWB who's had a nice year and has been obviously playing through pain. Hope he gets better.

Prohm should just play everyone with the notion to just go out and play basketball..they've looked their best when that's been the case.

We need outside shooting so desperately, I'd honestly be thrilled if Prohm played both Jakolby Long and Terrence Lewis 20 minutes a piece and told them to jack at least 20 three's between the two of them. Build one of those guys' confidence and see if we can find another outside scorer for when NWB comes back. Would make us stronger in the long run.

After thinking about it, I’m wondering just how limited Nick has been. He was so aggressive and really was a game changer in South Carolina but we didn’t see him at that level often after that.

Don’t get me wrong, he has logged a lot of minutes and played hard (and well), but he has lacked consistent aggressiveness and consistent explosiveness for a while now.

Hopefully the rest can get him well (or at least able to play with less pain), as I think he’s immensely talented (more talented than he himself realizes).

Well it’s time to play attitude **** you ball. Against West Virginia keep the ball in the center of the court and don’t dribble all day get the ball the **** up the court and drive that ball to the hoop with attitude and two hands, keep them spread out with ball handlers all over the court.

The best way to beat West Virginia is decisive aggressiveness. It’s also the way to get blown out of the building if it doesn’t work. What the hell at this point, let’s go down firing.

We are going to need some sympathy from the refs. I would tell the guys to play hard and don't hang your head after turnovers, because they are going to happen.

I'm still optimistic about this game. If there was a game to have Babb out it would be this one.
We struggled setting up offense without Babb but with WV if we attack the press we won't have to set up the offense. Just break the press and attack. We get an extra day to prepare for the press also.I know this is all easier said than done but I wouldn't rule out a close game.

IMO Babb would be guy #1 in breaking and attacking the press and I don’t think it’s even close. But I like your optimism.
