Hopefully Babb can get healthy and this will give Long and Lewis some extended playing time, which could be beneficial for the future.

Lets all be honest, at this point, the best we can hope for is the NIT and I think most fans would have considered even that a stretch. This'll let us see what Long and Lewis can do, force Lindell to play PG and basically teach our young guys how to work through adversity.

Hopefully they don't crack.

I like the idea of Lindell getting loose in open-court situations, granted the outcomes may be mixed but we're way too tentative when we've got break situations.

If we’re being honest, the best we can realistically hope for is that the last part of this year is the start of getting better for next year- Wigginton at pg, more minutes for Talley and Lewis and/or Long, Young getting more confidence to do something in the paint, etc. It’s a shame DJ’s shooting will largely go to waste this year. We’ll miss it next year.

Yeah we're not making the NIT. You essentially have to be a bubble team that didn't make it, or on the bubble of being on the bubble, to make the NIT.

It's really bad timing, but from the sound of it, we'll see more Talley, more Lewis and more Long. I think that's a good thing for the future. Trial by fire essentially. A few games with more minutes for those guys will be beneficial to us down the road. I'm sure it will be hard for Nick to be out, but clearly he could use the rest.

Not to worry - Kyle Kempt has been working with the starters and will be starting.

(Forgive me if that joke was already done by someone; I didn't read through the whole depressing thread).

I think most know there is no way. Have to have a winning record and we are 11-9. Getting in the NIT isn’t easy, you really need to be close to a bubble team since the mid major conference champions that lose the conference tournament get an automatic spot.

Have to win 5 more games at minimum and I doubt 16-15 does it. There will be better teams likely for them to take at that record.

Apparently the Pit of Misery loves company. Dilly Dilly.

But I seriously hope we just work on getting better at executing on both ends and the returning guys some quality minutes.

Hmm, so you are saying if one of the starters is not playing we'll see more of the reserves eh? Interesting....

Earth shattering, I know. There are options from that (playing the current starters quite a bit more), but with Talley, I think they noted that he might get more time at the 4, so it's possible that the plan overall is to go smaller, which I've been hoping for for a little while. We'll definitely need as many capable ball handlers as we can get against WV.
