Thanks for the link! I had forgotten about this so I just watched. FYI not a single commercial for me, maybe AdBlockPlus?

Anyway, I really had no hope that this could turn out to be good, and turns out it really was! The casting was so good and the cameos great. Evan Rachel Wood is great, more reason to love her. I normally hate Harry Potter but he was good, and funny that he was ripped.

Only one thing though, WHAT THE HELL DO THEY MAKE AT THE FACTORY!!!
Daniel Radcliff is actually really good outside the Harry Potter stuff. And he made enough money from HP that he can spend the rest of his life doing stuff that he's actually interested in rather than chasing paychecks.

I watched it. I had no idea what to expect going into it and was pretty pleased. Chunk of good quotables in there and like others mentioned, pool party was probably the best scene of the whole thing.

Anyone else check this out, this weekend?

What a riot. Leave it to Weird Al to do a pitch perfect parody of the Music Biopic genre. So ridiculous and over the top, and just brilliant. So many cameos.

The scene at Dr. Demento's pool party is iconic.

And Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna was phenomenal
I love me some Evan Rachel Wood.

Watched the first half of this last night. My expectations were low which helped but that thing was shockingly well done. He completely nailed it.

Weird Al is an absolute genius. Just not in a way that anyone ever has been before.

A favorite part of his schtick is how it became a deal where the band or artist had 'made it' if Weird Al used one of their songs.

I don't know if this is still true, but not that long ago he said that only one artist ever turned him down when he politely asked them if he could parody their song. He didn't have to do that, but he did out of respect.

The guy who turned him down shall remain nameless, mainly because I believe when he turned him down he didn't have a name.

Weird Al's legacy has surpassed most of the people he's parodied. Comedic and music legend.

I heard Michael Jackson was so flattered he let Weird Al use the exact same location to film "Fat" where "Bad" was filmed.

I'm pretty sure it was an in-joke in the movie that he beat out Prince for the award, at the end, because supposedly Prince would never give his blessing to Weird Al's parody requests.

Not that the blessing is required, but Al typically gets permission first as a courtesy.

I couldn't comment on the movie because I haven't seen it yet. I have made sure that my kids have been introduced to WAY's work.

In that case, apologies for the minor spoiler. That said, if your kids like Weird Al, they'd probably like the movie. My kids (12 and 8) loved it. It's actually fairly family friendly.

No apology necessary. I knew what I was getting into when I opened this thread.
