First time we're wearing this all black uniform. And first time the fans are doing a Coal Rush black out. Even the Mountaineer will be in a new set of black buckskins.
WVU with new uni's, fans doing a black out, night game, fox prime time game, drone show, and vs the #11 ranked team. Man. that place will be rocking.

I hope ISU comes out aggressively and jumps to an early lead to help 1) take the crowd out of the game and 2) make WVU abandon the run game

If this game doesn't scare you, are you really an Iowa State fan? Listen, I trust CMC and this team but this would be a very Iowa State thing to trip over ourselves and fall short here....Morgantown is never an easy place to play and add on the fact that we now have a huge target on us, expect to have some chaotic games going forward.

That said, Go Clones, beat the Mountaineers!

Sounds about how Texas Tech home games can be when they're fully capacity and doing well. That place always looks like a hornets nest especially night games.

There are a lot of similarities to that game. West Va is currently ranked 27th on Sagarin computer rankings and 31 on Massey. We are 11th and 9th on those. Similar rankings between the teams as well. This is a good team ISU is playing and will be great to just come out of here with a W somehow. Hope the crazy fans expecting a win and "easy going" or things to play out to their script won't be up in arms complaining on the game thread when West Va invariably takes the lead or something doesn't go well.

Sigh..... I should know better. I should just not check those game threads....

To be fair, so did Baylor for me. And Iowa. And a letdown game against Arkansas State. And @ Houston.

I think we are just natural worriers, and for good reason. Lots of scar tissue.
Agreed.

For me, I think I use the worrying to set expectations lower so I don't get too disappointed after a loss. Probably just my internal psychology. When I was playing in high school and small college before transferring to ISU, I had some control and looked forward to every game earnestly and was ready to go. Now as a fan, I have no control and I think I deal with it by not getting expectations too great. Funny how that works...

With everything all black the stage is set for WV to just disappear into the night. One can hope.:)

Anyone remember the tv crew we got last time in Morgantown? It was Brandon Weedon and that super annoying woman (forget her name). They were awful.
I think that was 2021. It was on ESPN+, and we got the bottom of the barrel refs, camera angles, and a female announcer who was blatantly cheering for WVU. Thanks for bringing that memory back lol

Wouldn't mind seeing a UND-like opening shot from Mouser on the first play or maybe after picking up a first down. Seize the momentum, put them on their heels and hit the gas.

What i think is crazy is nobody is talking about this stretch of games for WVU. They are prone to letdowns, and they have us in morgantown this week, and KSU next week. Heres to hoping the let down is tomorrow!

I'm sensing a WVU OU game in years past. Stage is all set for them. OU comes in a ***** on their party. Let's get it done.
My thoughts too. Have we ever seen a Cyclone team this poised and in control?

Must win the turnover battle. If we do, it's 6-0!!

I have no freaking clue how this game will go. HUUUGGEEE win if they take it. Set back but not a disaster if the lose.

I would like to hang my hat on the fact that CMC usually does well with the team on the road against all the odds but man, everything lines up for a scary night.

All we can do is have enough beer on hand and I suspect I may have to break the Balvenie before the end of this one.

well said....its going to take about ten years of really good football to undo all the stuff I have seen in the past ;)
as long as we play well, i can handle any loss. I just don't like losing because of 10 penalties, 3 turnovers and 2 blown ref calls. We got the screw job last time we went to morgantown.
I hope we throw the ball all over them. weather should support that effort.

We get past this game then our next 3 out of 4 games are home against UCF, TT and Cincy with KU being in KC. My head starts to expand at that point.

Even with a loss I feel like we have a great shot at 9-1 going into Utah.
would be really good to get that 10 win gorilla off our back for sure.

I do think Tech and Kansas are better than we think. Then Utah/K-state will be the two hardest games.
