50's - "Johnny B. Goode" - Chuck Berry
60's - "Piece of My Heart" - Janis Joplin
70's - "Let's Get it On" - Marvin Gaye & "Free Bird" - Lyndrd Skynrd
80s - I'm an 80s girl so this is REALLY tough for me to decide on just one.....I would have to say "Pour Some Sugar on Me" - Def Leppard....so many more though
90's - "Santeria" - Sublime
00's - hard for me as well because I like music from other decades better, but I guess I will go with "This Love" - Maroon 5

90's is Nirvana. Has to be.

1950s - Roll Over Beethoven
1960s - sympathy for the devil
1970s - london calling (although it came out at the tail end of the decade)
1980s - Burning For You
1990s - Plush
2000s - not sure

disclaimer: done off the top of my head.

I like Plush.... But still think that Smells Like opened the door for all the great 90's music that followed.

I don't understand what it is. You can't understand what Cobain is singing unless you have the lyrics in front of you, but I still think it's a great song.

Why do the 2000's suck so much with music? The songs from any other decade are still great to listen to, but there are very few songs from ealier this decade that I would really want to listen to. Except of course some Foo Fighters

This. Music hasn't been this bad in a while.

Why in every music thread do people bash on 00's music? If you do some searching and don't listen too KISS 107 FM its just as good as any other decade.

For 90's I would throw in "Say It Ain't So" by Weezer.

You need to split the 80's in half because it is unfair to compare the Flock of Seagulls, Howard Jones, etc. to Poison, Ratt, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, etc.
