What are your realistic expectations for the 2016 season?

I think you have to add TCU to the "Don't know" list. With everything they are losing on offense, that team will have some big question marks coming into the season and we get them early.
That said, I'm saying 6 wins and hoping a win #7 in a bowl game

I would say we go 6-6 or 7-5, and with a bowl win or lose we go any where between 6-7 or 8-5.
I think what we will see is strong OL play and running the ball really well. I'm excited to see some more misdirection running and being a team schools dread to play, because we control the clock so well.

Tech seems to play bad away from home and I bet our boys will be wanting revenge next year. Plus if they are bad at stopping the run again and it seems like we will be a punch you in the mouth running offense we should have their number.
I would agree except:
Iowa will be loaded, we will get thrashed there. I don't say that with any amount of glee.
Texas could be had again, especially if they have any struggles early in the year.
My realistic expectation is 5 wins in the regular season with a shot at a bowl game if we get lucky. A lot of times the margin of victory can be decided by a lucky bounce of the ball. I expect that a competent coaching staff should be able to use the potential of this team to do at least that much. I'll be disappointed with anything less, but won't be "angry" if we only win 4. 3 or less and I'll just revert to the "meh" feeling about ISU football until we can prove that we are ready to do more.
Iowa will be a much tougher out than Texas next year. Iowa is hardly losing any players.
I think Texas will be much improved next year. They get their first true pocket passer in ages, will have a stronger line on both sides of the ball, and will have a much improved run game. We got them while they were down, and while they won't be at true Texas level next year, they'll be much improved and certainly out for revenge after getting embarrassed nationally this year.
Tech might play bad on the road, but I'm going to have to see us put up more than 30 points and hold a high-powered offense below 50 before I consider that winnable. It certainly could be, but I need to see evidence first.
