Here's my take on Jameel. I think he is a gifted player athletically, as good an athlete as we have had in awhile. Basketball skills wise, he is a ways from where he needs to be. He should at least have a post game and better face up jumper. Would guess he is getting a lot of work in practice on his basic skills. Assuming that he is inclined to stick around 'till he's a senior, and learns better fundamentals, he will be quite a player.
At this point, I see him more as a guy that can run the floor, rebound , block shots and defend. I don't think we need to run much offense for him. Let him play and do what he can do. Would like to see him clear out when Niang has the ball to keep the middle open. Crash the boards after GN makes his move to the basket.
Also see him as more of a 4. A little lean to do much banging. Could be very good w a face up jumper and a set of post moves to go with it. Even w/o those he is a great addition to the cyclones.

Great to see him on the FT line today. He was 7 of 8 in the first half while everyone else was 1 of 6. And finished 8-9. This is big as he will just be fouled if he can't make free throws.

Guy has quickly become a stud. Had ALL the blocks of the game today.

Mckays asset compared with other similar type players is his speed, he's faster from one end to the other than 99% of bigs his size and length. The other thing that helps JM is he finishes pretty well on the run. If he can put on 10 lbs more of muscle in the off season and improve his scoring inside 10ft then he's got a good shot at getting drafted IMO.

its not unrealistic for JM to average 15-16pts, 6-8 rebounds, and 2-3 blocks a game next year. He's doing that now the last 4 games.
