He also led the team in scoring fwiw.

He had 13 points on 11 shots when the team shot 35% from the floor. Not saying he doesn't "like" getting heckled but I don't know how you could say either way how he feels about it unless I'm missing something he did. Iowa hasn't been good enough to really know what it's like to get heckled by opposing fans

We have to get under somebody's skin (when they have the ball),
...at the same time, I think we need to show our classiness and clear-up our language also.
Last year when we had KSU in Hilton, Angel Rodriguez airballed really early in the game and we never let him forget it for the rest of the game. It definitely got in his head. His stats for the game vs the rest of the year proved it too. We need to do the same thing for every airball Iowa has.

That's not what the thread is about.

Yeah... this thread is about the ISU crowd and student section getting under the skin of the Iowa players. It appears based on Iowa's lack of success in Ames that they do a pretty good job of it.

Since 1984 Iowa has a record of 5-11 in Hilton Coliseum. In 1989 Iowa won by 2, in 1995 the 12th ranked hoks beat an unranked ISU team by 6, in 1997 the 10th ranked hoks beat an unranked ISU team by 1, in 2001 the 12th ranked hoks beat ISU by 25, and in the 2003 NIT game the hoks beat an unranked ISU team by 1 point.

Three of their five wins were by 2 points or less and a fourth game was a 6 point win.

Iowa has also lost in Ames when ranked 12th, 16th, and 7th in that time span to lower ranked or unranked ISU teams.

Iowa has managed 1 convincing win in Hilton since 1984. You can see why ISU fans like the Cyclones chances of dismissing Iowa with a loss on Friday night.

The best sign I have ever seen at a Cyclone game was two years ago and it had Briney Griner on one side and the male basketball player on the other. Said something like 6"9 210. hey both look alike and the sign said "Same Person"?

The crowd needs to be hostile and get into the heads of the players. I'll once again cite Mitch McGary from earlier this season when he admitted in the post-game press conference that those chants got to him. He had 8 points in the first half and then 1 point in the entire second half.

Infinite rep to whoever can photoshop this with an Iowa player in it and bring it to the game .

Also, NIT and SIT DOWN FRANCIS should be regular chants at this game.

Sorry to burst your bubble but Iowa hasn't had much success anywhere the last 10 years or so. Iowa's record is worse at Wisconsin, Michigan St, etc.

Hilton is a tough place to play no doubt, but it's not the holiest of all holy like you want to make it out to be. Wisconsin has lost 7 times in Bo Ryan's tenure at Madison. That's 7 times in 13 years I believe. Indiana is one of the great mecca's of college basketball and Assembly Hall is one of the most intimidating places to play in collegiate basketball.

These seniors for Iowa have played in all of them, so I guess they've seen a little of everything at this point in their career.

Iowa State has a very good team this year to go along with the hostile environment so there is no doubt it will be surprising if Iowa wins.

Yeah that's not correct
