Sorry to burst your bubble but Iowa hasn't had much success anywhere the last 10 years or so. Iowa's record is worse at Wisconsin, Michigan St, etc.

Hilton is a tough place to play no doubt, but it's not the holiest of all holy like you want to make it out to be. Wisconsin has lost 7 times in Bo Ryan's tenure at Madison. That's 7 times in 13 years I believe. Indiana is one of the great mecca's of college basketball and Assembly Hall is one of the most intimidating places to play in collegiate basketball.

These seniors for Iowa have played in all of them, so I guess they've seen a little of everything at this point in their career.

Iowa State has a very good team this year to go along with the hostile environment so there is no doubt it will be surprising if Iowa wins.

Iowa has won 5 games at Hilton since 1984. Four of the five wins were a 6 point win, a 2 point win, a 1 point win, and a 1 point win. Hell... In the games Iowa has managed to win they were barely able to escape Hilton with a W. I would say Iowa is lucky to have won in Hilton other then the 1 convincing win they had in the past 30 years. Several of those games Iowa clearly had the better team and they still lost or snuck out with a very small margin of victory.

You didn't burst my bubble at all.

Soemthing I've only begin to notice from Iowa fans this year is their references to Hilton as run-down, a dump, a "HellHole" (saw that one on Twitter), etc. RoseBowlBound alluded to that a little earlier in this thread as well.

What's that all about? Arena envy? Trying to think of something they can claim CHA is better at than Hilton? Because I can tell you that is certainly not the case, anyway. Just interesting to see that trickle over from the common Jack Trice Stadium disparagement.

Typical hok fan comments about the ISU basketball program under Hoiberg have been that ISU doesn't recruit the right way and negative comments about Hilton. Quite simply... they are reaching for anything they can spin in a negative light with this program. The ISU program is growing in stature and hasn't even come close to reaching it's peak. Their comments stink of jealousy.

McCabe does have a bit of a temper. I don't see McCabe, White or Marble caring what the crowd chants. They have all been to Ames before, they've also been to Mich St, Indiana, Illinois, etc. which are all hostile. I would think it would motivate them even more to shut the crowd up. Marble would probably be the last one I would taunt as even though he sometimes disappears, he also sometimes drops 13 pts in 3 mins.

Agree, I think the crowd can get to Francis easier than the players.

Nice does not equal a better place to watch basketball. Would anyone say the Khol center is a better place than Allen Field house to watch basketball?

Carver just sucks on both fronts

You seem to have problems confusing 'fact' and 'opinion'. I'll grant you that the Kohl Center is much newer and very nice, but unless Heidi Klum is stroking my beanbag there during a game, it's probably not waaaaaaaaaaaay nicer that what I'm getting at Hilton.

I think we should do the "right, left, right, left, sit down chant" that is usually done after a player fouls out to Francis after timeouts

The United Center in Chicago is leaps and bounds better than the old Chicago Stadium it replaced. But it is an antiseptic environment that while very nice, completely lacks the charm and character of the old arena. Sure, the Chicago Stadium was a total dump and needed to be replaced but it's the building the Jordan played and won 3 championships in. Newer and bigger doesn't always equal better.

Didnt say anything about charm, noise, basketball watching, etc. Work on your reading comprehension. One is nicer than the other. One is better than the other.

Carver Hawkeye is good for some quiet knitting or catching up on some Tolstoy, provided you can ignore all the neckbeards slurping down free pizza

So is the United Center
