Struck out Jeff Clement twice in high school - including once with the bases loaded in a substate game. Off course I did help him contribute to the national home run record by allowing three of his over two years.

Senior year in football had a 150 rushing yard performance against Newton, our starter was hurt that game so I started. Never understood why I never started again. Also blocked 6 XPs and 3 FGs that year.

I am supposed to have the state record for most times getting hit by a pitch. I was the worst hitter in our team by far and any time I got down 0-2 in a count I would crowd the plate big time. Got plunked 17 times my senior year but our stats never got turned into the state, newspapers, etc.

On a side note, that Hanrahan kid from Norwalk plunked me when I was an 8th grader playing spring baseball (he was a senior). I didnt feel my elbow for a month and I'm not even joking.

Came back from 7 down with 30 seconds left in a wrestling match against Atlantic to win the match. Also it was the last match of the meat and I needed to win to win as a team.

Scored 2 points in basketball my whole 7th grade year and there were only 3 guys, including myself, on the bench. Man I sucked bad.

Can't believe I actually hung around for the whole year.

My girlfriend broke up with me hours before a wrestling meet. It is fair to say the young man from Bondurant-Farrar bore the brunt of my heartache.

Broke the same collarbone 4 times.

3 time coloring contest winner.

2 time intrumural field goal kicking champ at ISU.

One time intrumural indoor soccer champ. (Sage Rosenfels was our goalie for one game - my brother was a TA for him in a class).

Back to back undefeated championship seasons of HS Intramural basketball. woohoo

I also took a nasty charge from amatuer boxer ricky ramirez in college intramurals. He was definitely a better boxer than basketball player - even WHILE he was playing basketball.

Not even as good as Al Bundy. I was a better shoe salesman though.

Rushed for 303 yards and 3 TD's against Madrid in the State Semi's.

The next week in the finals, Bill Marsau threw me about 10 yards when I tried to block him. That was sweet

Last regular season basketball game of my Sr year I scored 24 points in the first half, including 6 threes (other team had 25).

Followed that up in the first round of districts by scoring 20 points in the 4th quarter (rest of team combined for 0).

Al Bundy moments:

Returned a fumbled punt 65 yards for a TD (I was the left tackle)
Scored 41 against Ames in a BB game

Both of these were JV games, so here are the athletic stories I tell more often:

Grabbed Robert Johnson's (from Lincoln and ISU) junk, accidentally I swear, while boxing him out on a free throw.

Was guarding Brian Pearson at a Drake team camp and watched him calmly knock down a half-courter at the end of the game to go OT. Needless to say, I didn't play the OT.

I coincidentally was in Sluggers in Wrigleyville and was going to play that basketball arcade game where each person has a few balls and the backboard moves closer and further. Jared Homan was next to me and I beat him like 48-36 or something like that. I was actually more sad than happy about winning since I am a big ISU fan.

That game isnt really shooting but more touch. Touch was not really Homans game. Now, if there were a game for kicking *** there, he would have done better.

Started & relieved the same game. Gave up 8 runs in the first four innings which I was quite pleased with since I had no idea I was pitching until I showed up that night! Our coach said to try it since I was a lefty, maybe I could stop a few runners from stealing second base constantly on our catcher. Then in the seventh inning, he tells me to go back & finish the game. Needless to say, it was classic batting practice at that point. I still know of no one else to ever do this and truly believe I deserve a hallowed spot in the HyVee Hall of Fame!!! Sidenote: We played a total of 11 games that summer including a conference tourney and first game of sectionals. The three games we won were tops for quite a few years.

Understandable, but if you saw how unsteady I was after twenty $7 Old Styles in the bleachers in Wrigley I think that touch wasn't my game either haha.

For me, it takes a pitcher before I can shoot pool straight. Maybe your better loaded.
After 20 I'd be hard pressed to stand though.

pitched 9 1/3 innings of relief in a 13-yr old Babe Ruth all-star game. Lost on a stupid error by 3rd baseman. 2nd team all-american at 2005 men's class D slow-pitch western nationals.

Several times I've wished my girlfriend would shut up so I could get some peace and quiet.
