I'm not going to lie, Alabama is good football team, but they play a very easy schedule. If the knock on Baylor and to an extent Louisville is that they play an easy schedule then people need to take a closer look at Bama. I think high scoring teams could beat Bama on any given day. Oregon, FSU, Clemson, Baylor, etc.

Oh please, the Big 10 the last few years has been pathetic. Especially Iowa's schedule. I would guess that Iowa State would win at least 8 games, probably 9 with Iowa's 2012 and 2011 schedules. EASY.

I realize this would be a small step down, but I would be more than ok playing in the Mountain West Conf. They are fairly solid from top to bottom, aside from NM and the AFA, and really don't endorse the whole favoritism thing. In most power rankings they are 7th, just behind the AAC. Often times, they rise as high as 5th or so in the rankings. In contrast, the Big12 is 4th in most rankings. It isn't going to happen so I won't defend it too hard, but it would certainly be better than the MAC and I'm sure they'd welcome us with open arms.

In terms of revenue it would be enormous. In terms of competition it would still be pretty big.

We rank #65 with UNI #46, EIU #45, UT #44, and Tulsa #106 per Sagarin thru 5 Oct games. We are the highest ranked 1-3 team. A one point #44 UT defeat shows we improved from an 8 pt #46 UNI defeat in the opener.

Yeah the PAC 12 is probably the second best conference behind the SEC and they may end up being better than the SEC (probably not but still). The ACC has Clemson but not too much otherwise. The big 12 is the the weakest BCS conference this year, and we still wont make a bowl game so yeah, lets just stay in the big 12
