What was your worst date?

So Travis and Ross had Courtney Johns from channel 13 on the radio this morning and the subject of her worst dates came up. Apparently when she was 22 she went out on 1 date with a 19 year old guy she had interviewed for a story. He took her to Red Lobster and when the check came pulled out a gift card to pay for it. She also said he had a "reverse tramp stamp" tattoo that said "hakuna matata" to which the question was asked how did she know which apparently he pulled up his shirt in the restaurant and showed her. She also went on a date with a guy that turned out he had multiple girlfriends as one showed up in the middle of their date. Too bad for all you single guys out there as she said she used to go out on at least 1 date with any guy that asked her out but has since changed that policy.

Anyways that got me thinking, anyone out there have a horrible date story they want to share? I can't think of any I had in the past that were so bad they were memorable but then again I haven't seen anyone other than my wife for over 10 years either so I've been out of the dating game for awhile too. About the most odd thing I have come across and it was more of a get together with this girl's friends that I didn't know well so it was a good way to casually hang out without going on an actual date was while playing pool in a bar she pulls out a can of chew and asks if it bothered me if she had a dip in front of me. Big turnoff but after finding out more about her not surprising of a habit as she definitely was small town redneck type which being from rural upbringing myself I've seen a lot of strange things but never a girl that carried a can of chew. Women that chew tobacco, no thanks! That's almost more disgusting than smoking in my book.

Not the worst in the world, but I went on one once with a girl that literally te entire date talked about this stupid *** shoe blog she had. A blog. About shoes. No matter what, I couldn't change the subject. Really cute girl. Great lay. Dumb as a frickin brick though. No matter what I couldn't bring myself to go on a date with her again because just the thought of that conversation makes me want to stab a pen in my ears.

I have told mine here before. First date, guy took me to a modestly priced restaurant/bar for dinner (it was years ago, I believe my meal cost about $4). Then pretty much demanded we go somewhere for sex since he was paying. I walked out and was going to catch a bus or taxi home. He caught up to me and was punching me when the bouncers from the bar came out and beat the crap out of him before calling the cops. Only first date where I ended up with a broken nose, and my date ended up in worse condition.

I gather you didn't google her blog later? (That sounded really dirty out-of-context.)

A guy at my old job really, really liked me. He was very nice, but quiet. A mutual friend begged me to go on a date with the guy, so I did. So. Awkward. He barely said three words the entire time, so I had to sort of keep up a flow of words just to fill the awkward silences. That's a lot of pressure. Later on the mutual friend asked me how it had went, and I reamed him for how awkward it was - but apparently the guy had thought that it went great.

Holy. Crap. This probably wins.

One of my buddies always talked about a girl who he would hook up with randomly. At any rate, I asked a girl out at a bar, and found out the next day that she was one and the same. He didn't care one way or the other, and I didn't want to be rude to her, so we went out. Most awkward couple hours of my life, and could not get out of there quick enough. I was eventually best man in the wedding (now divorced). Just a strange, strange deal.

Wow! Holy crap that definitely is going to be a hard one to top. What a complete tool the guy must have been to think a cheap date was going to turn into sex then be a piece of scum to hit a woman. I hope you filed charges so he at least got some kind of punishment for being such a low life

They charged him with attempted sexual assault but I was fine with them letting him plead down to assault charges. I didn't want to come back to testify since it was a town I was in just for a summer internship in college. Throughout the years I have wondered if I did the right thing though and worry that he tried the same crap with someone else.

First date, talked about her family and my family quite a bit, she said several things about how much she liked her mom and how important she is to her. I asked where her mom lived now, her mother was deceased.

Although that did explain why she had been so cryptic in the language she used when talking about her mom, because she didn't want to talk about her death.

Losers like him probably don't learn their lesson the first time (and it probably wasn't the first time when it happened to you) so at least he got something for it. Glad to hear you at least didn't let him off the hook because some might be intimidated or blame themselves for what happened which just enables scum like that and just let it go.

Not a date, but as a high school senior I decided to call a cute girl I'd had a class with. The call went smoothly until she said, "I can't go out with you, I just got engaged last night." Scarred for life.

I've never really had too many bad dates because I've been in a few long-term relationship almost all of my adult life.

I guess the worst date would be when we went to the mall when I was 18 and she got caught shoplifting and we were both arrested. The charges for me were dropped but I haven't spoken to her since.

My view is that any date that ends in police intervention is pretty bad.

I've dated/been married with my wife for 15 years....so my guess is the only bad "date" stories, would be me being an idiot when we were younger.

I was in slump for a while. My friends weren't any help: they were all married or in a relationship. Of course none of their sigs knew anyone either. So, I broke down and subscribed to a dating service. Painful, I know. Nevertheless, I learned a lot about making conversation, etc. One date, though, took the cake. We met and sat down and all I could think was "she looks exactly like my ex." That I had dated for almost 4 years! To make matters worse, she felt we really connected and kept calling afterward!

there was a How I met your Mother episode with that exact same plot.

Hope you found someone after that!
