Gains is a freshman. Four of the six WR’s listed are seniors.Kinda excited / surprised to see Bitter. Surprised not in a great way not to see Gaines at receiver.
Possible that we see him in 4 games and then redshirt unless he really breaks out. I'm excited to see him, but hate to see him burn a year in spot duty.Gains is a freshman. Four of the six WR’s listed are seniors.
Yes, however, I'd argue other than X, which senior receiver has really proven himself on a consistent basis? I like Wilson but stillGains is a freshman. Four of the six WR’s listed are seniors.
I know there's some big name recruits there, but I am just worried about our LB depth if one of the starters goes down. Would have been nice to keep Aric Horne from last year as he had some solid playing time. Sure these guys will be studs, just don't want to have to throw them in the fire too soon.
IDK...probably just the ISU fan in me, but I didn't get great vibes from Heacock's comments on Reader. A lot of he's getting there...I love the young LBs. I remember being concerned when Lanning graduated and Mike Rose won the starting job as a true freshmen who didn't make it to campus until fall camp... That worked out ok.
I think we got a stud transfer in Reader and have some young guys I am optimistic will be good as back ups. I am not too worried.
I guess my main concern is going to be the OL until they are better than just "ok". Watching NW last week it looked like they did what we try to do. Bully the other team at the line of scrimmage and win by not making mistakes. We have won a lot of games playing that way. But I think it's been done with more talent at RB, QB, TE, and WR than what NW showed. If we could field an OL like they did on Saturday we have the rest of the pieces to win 10 games (imo).
Northwestern likely has a top 10 pick at Left Tackle. That dude is a flat out stud. So until we get one of those dudes... Worst case he's mid first roundI love the young LBs. I'm surprised no one's mentioned both the kicker and punter are freshman... That scares the "poop emoji" out of me.
I heard that Reeder has been looking good the last couple weeks. Compared him to Jr season Mike Rose.Scared about Rose replacement. We know how bad the defense got without him
Agreed, to extend that further... other than Hutch and Noel... all primary ball handlers are new to carrying the load. I expect some mishandles and turnovers.I'm surprised no one's mentioned both the kicker and punter are freshman... That scares the "poop emoji" out of me.
Right... I guess I was hoping for more at OL when Campbell came in. I knew it would take time but assumed by year 4 or 5 we would have a top tier OL. I would not count OL among ISU's strengths... They may be "OK" but that's about it. DL on the other hand has taken huge strides from when CMC got here. If OL was at the level of the DL we would be in really good shape this year.Northwestern likely has a top 10 pick at Left Tackle. That dude is a flat out stud. So until we get one of those dudes... Skoronski literally stopped Nebraska's defensive end with one arm and changed his direction on one of their touchdown's. There ain't a lot of college tackles who can do that. He also got out leveraged by Nelson on a good rush but just dug his feet into the ground and didn't get pushed back into the QB.
And I believe that's a group that has been together largely for 4-5 years.
Dimitri Jackson from Colorado, didnt even realize.
