I would like to see all kinds of multi-back formations on Saturday:

- Barnett, Jantz, and White all in one backfield
- Woody and Nealy in the same backfield
- Nealy and Johnson in the same backfield
- etc, etc, mix and match

keep the D guessing.

Old thread but same question, is he hurt? He has been more effective than Johnson and White, why isnt he Wimberly's backup?

I've been a little more surprised that White and Johnson have completely disappeared the last couple games. Granted, Wimberly has been tearing it up, but White and Johnson both showed a lot of promise over the last few years... just kind of strange that their time/role/production has fallen off a cliff.

White fumbling on his first series last week didn't help. Johnson... I dunno, has anyone called Missing Persons yet?

Most teams don't play 4 or 5 running backs per game. Wimberly's been great; Woody will get some short-yardage and burn clock snaps for us; White will get some snaps, too. That doesn't leave a whole lot more snaps for others. I wouldn't count on seeing much of Nealy, or Johnson, or Standard, or anyone else. To me, that's a good thing.

White actually had a couple clutch catches out of the backfield to get us first downs against Texas.

Yeah. Basically at this point Wimberly is the feature back, Woody is the fullback, and White is the change of pace/everything else guy. I think it probably stays that way the rest of the season.

And frankly, I'm fine with that. I've seen Woody in there a lot more on plays that aren't obviously "to him," which is what we're been wanting (leading the way as fullback, or in to protect Sam).

Don't change it if it ain't broke. Circumstances in the running game are very different now than when I started this thread last season.

For the love of God all we did was ***** and moan about the staff picking a guy and sticking with him and they finally do that with the back that appears to be extremely talented and here we are back with a few people (more than likely the one that brought this back up) complaining about this guy or that guy not getting enough touches.

Wimberly has proven to be a spark and White is the best receiver out of the backfield and a good change of pace guy. lets just be happy for once, mmkay?

No one since the rebirth of this thread has complained about backs not getting switched out more. One guy asked where Nealy has been because he hasn't been seeing any time on the field. That is all.

Nealy was in on some 2-back sets with Wimberly and was a lead blocker on a couple plays in our last game (think that was the case on Wimberly's 1st down run in our 2nd to last possession).

Maybe he will get a shot at carrying the rock a bit out of this set as teams we face will start to key more on stopping Wimberly.

There are multiple people here talking about SJ being a "missing person" and both SJ and JW being dissapointments. Like they should be doing more. The fact that they are not getting a ton of snaps (staff using one guy for th bulk of the plays) results in less production from them, picking a guy and sticking with him is directly correlated to the other backs not getting much PT.

IMO its clear that Wimberly is the best back that we have or at least has clearly had the most success. With Woody getting the short yardage snaps and White being the "go to" pass catcher out of the backfield there just isnt room for everyone.

People saying that someone is missing because they haven't seen them or saying they are surprised that last years starters production has dropped off dramatically does not equal people complaining about the staff using one RB for the majority of the carries.
