Shontrelle has been in on a lot of third down plays lately. I think his role with this team has evolved to a third down back, i.e. help with pass protection and catch passes out of the backfield on obvious passing downs.

I thought he would be playing more myself. I think I predicted he would be the more explosive play maker in school history at one time. I do think he will get more touches next season with Woody, White, and SJ all being seniors this season.

For the love of God all we did was ***** and moan about the staff picking a guy and sticking with him and they finally do that with the back that appears to be extremely talented and here we are back with a few people (more than likely the one that brought this back up) complaining about this guy or that guy not getting enough touches.

Wimberly has proven to be a spark and White is the best receiver out of the backfield and a good change of pace guy. lets just be happy for once, mmkay?
Asked a simple thing if he was hurt. My list of running backs:
1) Wimberly

2) White
3) Woody/Nealy

We went into the season, at least most of us did thinking Nealy was a clear #3 or almost #2, CW included. Thought we would at least see more than what 10 carries by now?

Not to dampen the Wimberly love but the past two games have also been against absolutely horrid defenses. Lets wait until we play some teams that can actually stop the run before we crown Wimberly as the only running back on the team worth a damn.

There are multiple people here talking about SJ being a "missing person" and both SJ and JW being dissapointments. Like they should be doing more. The fact that they are not getting a ton of snaps (staff using one guy for th bulk of the plays) results in less production from them, picking a guy and sticking with him is directly correlated to the other backs not getting much PT.

IMO its clear that Wimberly is the best back that we have or at least has clearly had the most success. With Woody getting the short yardage snaps and White being the "go to" pass catcher out of the backfield there just isnt room for everyone.

I'm the one who said SJ is a missing person. I'm glad he is, because I don't want anyone but Wimberly in the backfield.

But by all means, continue the "He said 'X,' I'm calling him a ******* because 'Y,' which is completely unrelated" discussion you've got going here.

UNI is horrid against the run and we couldnt get out of our own way in that game, they just gave up like 260 on the ground last week and 150 the week before.

Wimberly is the best RB on the team - by far. I don't see how anyone can logically conclude anything different.

I wish we had a "fire" back to go with his lightning. I don't mean a Woody but more of a 215 pound type to mix in.

Sorry I blew up.

My point is there are only so many carries to go around. So far it has been demonstrated that Wimberly seems to be the most productive so why cut into his carries to give someone else "a shot".

I get that people are only asking "where has X, Y or Z been" but again I think they go hand in hand. When one guy has gotten the bulk of the carries there are going to be a few people that fall to the wayside and Neally and Standard just seem to be the odd men out for now.

Our primary running backs are only getting like 3 carries a game each already. If I was a guy like Woody I'd be pretty ****** off right now and adding another guy to the mix would make it even worse.

Well, he did karate chop the ball out of White's hand in the Texas game - does that count as ****** off?

And also fumbled the ball on a short down.

That's unfair. In the stat book, yes, it went down as a fumble, but his OWN GUY kicked his foot straight back (not sure why) and kicked the ball out of his arms. It was dumb luck. Same thing would happen to any RB.

(NOTE: I am not saying White should be the #1 back.)

If I was White, I would have gave Woody a "dirty Sanchez" for giving me a mule kick on that play! :wideeyed:

JW was within 3 foot of the LOS...he needs to be ready for some contact, and that includes the big toe of Jeff Woody.

After the Tulsa game, Woody "confessed" that he made the wrong block on what would have been a touchdown for White, then he himself scored on the next play ... now he kicks the ball out of JW's hands. Coincidence? Time to start the "Jeff Woody hates James White" thread???

I think Nealy might already be our #2 back behind Wimberly? Next year, with White graduating, Nealy will definitely be #2 and will get a LOT of carries.

I predicted this summer that Nealy would lead this team in rushing this year. Obviously I'm going to be wrong on that prediction, but nonetheless, I think Nealy has that kind of talent, to lead us in rushing.

I agree 100%, but the coaches didn't conclude that in the first two weeks.... (for some strange reason)
