OU because (hopefully) Campbell won’t waste the momentum like Rhoads did with OSU.
Well he kneeled the ball in the last minute, so that's a refreshing first step. Heft didn't freak out over that choice like he did against K-State.

Agree on the high level perspective, but that Ok St game was followed by at top-15 OU (one our better games against them) and at top-15 KSU (close loss)

Too early to tell, but I vote Okie State today.

We were both at the end of the season so we knew what the teams were. Okie State a game away from playing for a title, us playing for an improbable bowl birth.

Do we even know that Oklahoma is really that good? So they beat a Big 10 team that may or may not be good. They have struggled in some other games and have not played the other good teams in the conference. And what will be the impact for us? Do we lay a turd with Kansas and not make six wins or barely eek them out? Do we go on to beat the teams we should and get a bowl? Do we take a step we don't expect and compete at least for a chance at conference title game?;

For now, the impact of a bowl birth for us and a national championship game changed makes OSU the bigger upset and bigger impact. Will reevaluate once we have more games to judge both teams.

I was on cloud nine for a solid week after the OSU win--ISU was pretty marginal after that and into the next season. Granted, the losses were to good teams but they looked pretty bad in the bowl game and imo 2012 showed just where the program really wasn't.

I picked the OU win even though it's different--it was shocking and surprising but the potential has been there for this group and they essentially finally finished someone off. I need to see how the rest of the season plays out...if there's 3-4 more wins out there and any losses are close, this may be the most pivotal game in ISU history, which is more important.

Went with OSU because we know that if they wouldn't have lost they would have played for a national championship. I think this OU team will have 1 or 2 more loses this year

I think he just meant it was a messier game with turnovers, missed FGs, etc

Some may argue that the impact of the plane crash one day earlier could have affected the team's performance. I just looked it up on Wikipedia and they list OSU's only loss of the season under the "Impact" heading.

What about the recruiting after OSU?
Would be noticed a few years later, and but if your metric on a win is a noticeable change in recruiting, I can assure you this one will fail too. One game doesn't change recruiting. Maybe it helps CMC get some of the better MAC recruits.

CPR failed to capitalize on that win because he continually made management level mistakes and bad breaks, and wasn't a good enough coach himself to overcome that.

OSU was more dramatic (winning on the last play of the game) and had bigger national implications since it happened later in the season and totally screwed up the BCS.

Saturday's win was bigger though for the program. We beat a highly ranked football power that had owned us for 27 years on the road with a backup QB. Stuff like that never happens, especially at ISU. You want to talk about a win that can change a program, well this is it.

To me, what tips the scales is this: In the 82 times ISU and OU have played football against each other, the Cyclones have won 6 times.

That's six, as in 6. And that counts last Saturday.

There was a lot of blaming the loss on the plane crash after OSU. I didn't like that. It was tragic to say the least but ibdoubt it impacted the game as much as pundits said it did. We had beaten OSU many times previously but we pretty much never beat OU. It just makes it better when they have a big-time delta bravo playing qb.

OSU was on an emotional downturn because of the tragedy (plane crash) that befell their university right before the game. Funk, fluke, whatever. The table was set for some weird **** to transpire.

To be honest, I really don't think that had anything to do with the players in that game. Tragic? Yes, but I highly doubt the football team was associated with two coaches of the women's basketball team.
