If Benton can run in the 4.4s or low 4.5s he may have a shot. Doesn't he have experience at both CB and S?

If nothing else, Rex Ryan loves putting a ton of DB's on the field and disguising blitzes. Maybe his versatility would get him a call from the Jets. I don't really know of any other teams that do that, but I think that's the kind of scheme that would take a guy like Benton.

I think that KO and LJ get invited to the combine and everyone else will have to prove it on pro day. My guesses:

KO: mid 2nd round
LJ: 4th round
Benton: UFA
Reynolds: UFA
Hicks: UFA
Rump: free agent tryout

We're definitely biased here. I was SURE that Franklin would get drafted. I thought that Lamaak's versatility would be a huge selling point. And I thought that Sims would make a team mostly due to special teams play. I don't know that any of them saw a down of NFL play this year.

LJ's a decent corner, but he has average size and average speed. Still, with all the passing in the NFL, he'll find a spot. KO I think will be an immediate starter somewhere at Guard or maybe even RT. He's an elite college player and has shown that he can pass protect well. Everyone else better hope for a good pro day and to sign with the right team as a free agent.

KO-2nd-3rd round
LJ-6-7th round

I know a lot of people in the thread like LJ to be picked earlier but like was said earlier his measurables are average. People like LJ are a dime a dozen as far as speed/size in the potential draft pool except LJ had better cover skills than most. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go undrafted and get signed later.

LJ's draft position depends on the weight the GM gives to tape vs. tape measures and stop watches.

I doubt there are 3 corners in all of college football who faced as many legit NFL receivers this season and never got outplayed head to head. There may be none. That's not to say he's the most talented, but he's likely the most tested against NFL caliber WRs of all corners in the draft this year. The Big 12 was obviously loaded then in in two of his four non-conf games he played against WRs who will be drafted as well. Never saw the game where these half dozen plus NFL draft receivers burned him.

Do you look at film and take a guy you know for sure can at least hang with NFL receivers, or do you take a guy who is bigger or faster on a scale and stopwatch? It's not like LJ would measure out horribly at the combine either.

GMs pay attention to combines, but the position of scout would not exist if they didn't actually watch guys play as well.

LJ and KO will both be playing in the senior bowl as well.
That will give scouts the chance to watch them practice and see how well they can be coached.

Just being invited to the senior bowl is the best sign of their draft stock rising. Immediately after the OSU game LJ jumped on a ton of online draft boards. Lets hope that was not forgotten. He doesn't have the stats of a lot of CBs, because most teams went away from him to secondardy receivers.

Oh, and hopfully teams remember that he lit it up as a return man early in his career. That kind of bonus versatility really helps to seperate the second round guys from third and fourth round guys.

Agreed. Both will get drafted. I wont be shocked to see LJ 5-6 though.

After the Steelers loss yesterday, it is pretty obvious that offensive line is a BIG need.

A couple mock drafts have the Steelers taking KO at #24. They note that his ability to play OG and RT make him perfect for the Steelers who need help everywhere but Center.

This would be win-win for me. KO gets drafted pretty high, to a team I root for, and hopefully keep Big Ben alive for a few more years and give KO a decent shot to get a ring in the future.

Good cover skills? You haven't watched him play a game have you? Average measurables? Have you been at practice with a stop watch? Based on your 29 whopping posts, I am going to ask why you think you know enough about the ISU team to comment here?

He will get to detemine measurable at the combine. If he runs in the 4.4s, which I think he is capable of, he is a first day pick. He has more than "good" cover skills. he never really had a bad cover game all year.

Oh, It's also obvious that the Steelers need more help at Cornerback so hello LJ! HA!

(I have to laugh today, because I wasn't yesterday.)

One thing about LJ that wasnt mentioned is his physicality. How many fumbles did he cause in his career, that dude can hit.

I know this won't go over well here but I kind of chuckle when people say LJ shut down Blackmon. Blackmon ended with 10 catches, 99 yards, and 1 TD. That's 22 fantasy points folks ;)
