Jok has 4 great offensive games and now he is the third best player in the state?! This thread is becoming comical.

McKay was third team all conference last year and Big 12 DPOY. Monte was 2nd team all conference. Both received votes for first team pre season all conference this year. This is incredible

The best way to solve this problem is to answer this question. Your team is down by 1 with 10 seconds left and they have the ball, who would you rather have taking the last shot?

You can disagree with me instead of inserting a smart *** meme. Let me guess, you think Morris and Mckay should be ahead of Jok?

Ok move Jok down below Morris and Mckay where he belongs. Jok is a lot better than I expected but he's not better than those two.

Uh, yeah. WTF? Morris could actually be ahead of all of them if we really want to go buy who is actually the best "basketball player". Do you even watch ISU games? Do you watch Morris? Have you heard about the NCAA record he has broken(twice)? Did you see the game winners Morris has had against Texas (last year), Iowa and Oklahoma?

Get real man.

If any basketball fan would rather have Jok than Morris on their team they are 100% biased or 100% mentally unstable.

I like reading the analysis on here of the head to head game. Niang had 16 points in that game, Uthoff had 32. But since Niang got most of his points in the 2nd half, its better. I will take a 32 point "disappearing act" over a "clutch" 16 points any day.

Chill out man, I've watched plenty of Iowa State games. I was just basing off what ive seen from Jok the last month or so where hes been lighting it up from 3. You're right, Morris is the better all around player. Sorry to anybody I offended.

Winning > Losing

You're right though, Uthoff did have the best game of his career against ISU and it still wasn't enough

Probably not the best way to determine who is the best player

Cool. I'll take somebody who steps up when it counts and wins games.

No doubt, but we didn't watch Niang beat Uthoff 1 on 1 over 40 minutes. We watched ISU beat Iowa over 40 minutes, while Uthoff outplayed everyone else on the floor.

For 20 minutes......but games are at least 40 minutes, and in the end, he couldn't come through with the play that Iowa needed him to make.

He averages 10 pts and 4 boards a game and has a higher PER than Buddy Hield. I know he is an NBA prospect but he puts up average college numbers

I'm not trying to say that PER is the only thing to look at with players. I look at it quite often because it tells a story that PPG or RPG doesn't. I also think it is a good metric when looking at similar statistic players, IE looking past the standard metrics and looking at how efficient a Hield is vs a Uthoff vs a Niang vs a Simmons, etc.

And Niang didn't come through when the Cyclones needed him against Baylor or Texas or UNI. This is how it works. If it's strictly about winning... Uthoff is helping Iowa win a lot of games and Niang is helping Iowa State win a lot of games. Both players have had missed opportunities late in games that could have helped their team come away with a W, but by and large both players are leading their teams to a lot of wins. Looking at just one of those games is being narrow minded.

So in 20 minutes he was able to drop twice as many points at Niang was over 40 minutes on his own court? How terrible of him.

Also, I think our players forgetting how to inbound a basketball at the end of the game might be more impactful than Uthoff not hitting 1 shot.
