Prove it on the field. We hear that the group is awesome longer than I've been on CF. It's an annual tradition.

Best receiver went down for the season on the third play. That did not help. Other injuries on the 2-deep as well. Lazard, Montgomery, Bundrage........sounds pretty good.

I have a bad feeling that if we are shattering passing/receiving records this year like people are alluding to than it will mean we were losing/behind in every game early and having to pass the whole time. Not a good recipe for success. I'd rather see some rushing records broken.

Exactly, Sam had nice yardage totals last year but 80% of them came in situations that made no difference in the game (esp in big 12 play) . I'd take Sammy throwing for 100 yards a game if it meant more wins. Nothing against the guy but we showed an offense based around him slinging the ball around isn't ideal. We don't need 3000yds or anything that specific, we just need more balance. When Sam isn't the only thing a defense has to worry about, he has shown he can lead the team down the field. If we're one dimensional, he turns into an average QB at best.

Lazard is probably the only player that would start on another team. This year's group will be average again at best.

Lazard, Bundrage, and Montgomery would all start for the Hawkeyes. Better than anyone they have.

Add Ben Boesen to the list of receivers - he should have the starting TE spot locked up and I think he will plug-in and have a nice RS SR season!
