Draft express was purchased by ESPN I believe is the reason for the change.

ESPN posted the story for those who want the details.

In the end Lindell and his family will decide what is best for him. Great experience to get feed back and make connections to the NBA front offices. I fully expect him to be back leading the rise of ISU next year unless there is a team that gives him a First round guarantee (which seems very unlikely considering the depth of this years class and few projections I have seen).

Hopefully Lard does this too. I hope both players work their tails off to get to the NBA for the next couple of years.

There is no way Wigginton or Lard goes 1st round this year. I'm not worried at all, both have a huge ceiling talent wise but have a lot of work to do on their game before they are locks to go pro early and the best advice they could get is to stay another year in college. I think both are at least 3 year guys. Wigginton's future is at PG in the NBA because he is undersized at 6-2 188 to be a SG and he showed that he has a lot of work to do running the point when Babb got shut down. Same thing for Lard at 6-9 225. He's undersized at PF or C without adding another 25 lbs of muscle or adding a 3 point shot. I actually think that Lard has a higher ceiling than Wigginton does at this point because he has the frame and skill set to improve quicker at a position that is tougher to find talent at.

Executed correctly, this is very beneficial to Wigginton. Hopefully he makes sound decisions, and in a timely fashion.

Do we root for him to impress?

Cool for him.

Doesn't hurt to have 'Iowa State' associated with his name.

Should we be concerned there was no official release from ISU before or after this news came out? Quotes from Lindell or Prohm?

I think Lindell is extremely talented, but it would be a mistake to stay in the draft this year. He needs another season to get better with his decision-making and have the opportunity to get more exposure. He will likely be a first rounder in 2019 if he keeps playing and improving the way we expect him to.

No concern, seeing what pros think of him like monte, burton and a few others have done.

Ya, I wondered why ISU hadn't put out a press release either although I thought it was mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Lindell and Cam would likely go this route.

I know people have been sensitive about posting paywall material before, so if this stuff is frowned upon I can take it down, but I use this site to read draftexpress stuff.

Thanks for linking! Been wanting to look at this.

Is ESPN's insider draft coverage not very good in addition to their recruiting coverage? I would of expected guys like Zhaire Smith and Khyri Thomas from Creighton to be near the first rounders at this point (they are on many other sites), but they're absent from the entire top 100 list. Also, no Lindell... would have thought he would at least crack the 70-100 range. Michael Porter Jr at #2 seems odd too.

Additional note: No Lindell in ESPN insider 2019 mock draft updated on 2/18/2018

I do think it is a bit concerning the news came from his dad and not Lindell or ISU/Prohm. Maybe I am reading too much into that but it seems that sometimes happens when one party is pushing a kid in a direction and the staff may be giving him different advice. I would assume he comes back but it really depends on what he wants. Some people don't mind taking the chance of being drafted in the second round and trying to get on a team. Fingers crossed he comes back though.

I went back and looked for comparison and Iowa had a press release out the same day as the news broke about Cook declaring without an agent. I do think the way this has all went down can be categorized as a little odd.
