I think he is told to disappear. Too many bigger names fighting for that position of leader/clutch player. Wait your turn, get back in line, however you want to put it, he doesn't have the clout to just make that decision himself, and maybe he shouldn't be that guy. Regardless Tyrese is our best player.

He disappears because he can’t create his own offense yet. When ISU needs a bucket, Tyrese isn’t that guy unless it’s an open 3 assisted by someone else. He doesn’t make mistakes and he doesn’t hurt you so he needs to be on the court but if he wants to be our best player, he needs to expand his offensive game.

I watched the last 15 minutes of the game again. It was really hard to watch that guy play hero ball every time down court. He wasn't even really looking to get his teammates involved. Who could ever like that Barry Brown guy.

I can definitely handle it on a personal level because I’m very used to it. I don’t mind disagreements on here at all! We aren’t going to agree on everything and it can even keep a discussion going. Personal jabs are just a waste of time for everyone trying to read the thread and have conversations.

As for the topic on who our best player is, it’s definitely a good problem that we have multiple options for who that guy is. Now we just need them all to gel and start a nice winning streak.

I don't think he has the chemistry with the others, and he is trying to force things. Take it all on his shoulders.

I think it’s game planning. Bad shooters are good shooters when they’re wide open. Less game planning, more basic shell drill. We need to get less cute. We gotta spend some time figuring out how to be a good defensive team with Lard/Conditt as the focal point on defense because that is how we reach our potential IMO.

That may have happened against Baylor, but we defended very well against K State.

How many games has this team played with a full compliment of players? How many of those games with a complete roster have been with key players working their way back into shape?

No I was agreeing with you there sport, maybe you should relax. You’re way to young to be so uptight about college basketball. Especially when you aren’t coaching.

Exactly; Tough last sequence for him. He missed, I think, two front ends of one-and-ones. Those killed us. Just make 50% of those and we'd have anywhere from 1 to 3 points more. He also had about 2 or three more dribbles (or he could have passed it to the wing for a quick three) on that last sequence.

Please don't throw him under the bus as the OP wants to do. It does no good; particularly if Wigginton were to read this. Basketball is a game of inches and if we had just scored one more bucket the gloom and doom from many would have disappeared. General rule: we're never as good as we seem or as bad as we seem.

Keep the faith, people. Yes, we've had some clutch players in the past who make more of those free throws than miss (the Monte Morris', Naz Long, etc. hit some big free throws in games down the stretch for ISU), but it's too early to completely write-off Wigginton. I don't think complaining about him is going to help and like it or not, he is one of our best players even if he hasn't shown the nerve and talent some of our players from the past did in similar situations. Hope he keeps his head up.

Very well said. As previously mentioned, he was looking like a lottery pick a few months ago and now has disappeared off those lists. He has the talent, just give it time.
