I am needing to replace some windows and live in the Ames area. Does anyone know of a reputable vinyl window installer and/or window company?

I’ve heard positives about Waddle.

Had my house just done by Midwest Construction (Grimes), so far so good.

We just had new triple pane windows put in by clear choice. Good product for the price.

I had Window World replace my first floor windows a year or two back. They did a really nice job and gave me a great price.

Somewhat depends on whether you want to match other existing windows in your house.

whats a decent price for a decent window (not looking for super high end) installation?
That’s tough to say without knowing a lot of info. All of mine are crankouts.

Windows are surprisingly very easy to install. If it’s just a few windows and on the first floor I’d say grab a friend and do it yourself. Drill gun, level, caulk, maybe some insulation is really all it takes.

I am a dealer for Provia doors and windows. I believe the best windows and doors . I won't tell you they are the cheapest but quality and warranty is second to none. If interested my email is [email protected]

Not sure how it would compare to Iowa but in Dallas I got 3 quotes and they all came to about $1000 per window with installation. That's for 31 total windows, 5 of which are 9'x3' and were $1650 installed raising the average. Just standard white vinyl, double pane, double hung...nothing fancy. I personally don't think you get much more bang for your buck with triple pane.

I had decent quality triple pane windows installed for $450 a window in the DSM area. Granted my largest window was 3' x 5'.

Just had our whole house done.

The advice we got was "installation is key" so we bought mid-range windows instead of the very top end ones and (hopefully) had a top notch installer do them.

Big difference already and very happy with both the interior and exterior look of them.

Can you provide me with the name of your window installer.
