Didn't know where to put this and didn't think it warranted it's own thread, but here is a couple minute clip of Coach Hofher talking about RPOs.
How about creativity focused on the weaknesses of our opponents?? That means that it will likely have to change for each game—-just like the opponent’s weaknesses will be different with each game! Wouldn’t THAT be a unique concept? What changes to Manning’s playbook do you think happened once all these new faces were inserted to #1 on the depth chart?
I’d imagine we will see more down the field plays with Dekkers. He has a few weapons that I think will expand the playbook. Only request is a qb sneak play instead a shotgun run on 4th and 1.
Just trying to stir more football talk… I’m pumped!
Campbell is the one who sets the agenda. He is directly involved with the game plan and certainly responsible for managing the flow of the game.Nothing will change due to new personnel. Run for 2 yards, run for -2 yards, completed pass for 8 yards, punt. Wash, rinse repeat. Manning just sucks and it is sad CMC stays with his buddy.

This is not accurate at all. You have obviously created this in your head because you don’t like Manning. The offense has not had trouble moving the ball, just untimely mistakes or questionable short yardage plays.Nothing will change due to new personnel. Run for 2 yards, run for -2 yards, completed pass for 8 yards, punt. Wash, rinse repeat. Manning just sucks and it is sad CMC stays with his buddy.

Yes, the guy who has been the architect of some of the best offenses in Iowa State history, both in yards gained and points scored, sucks. The last three years under Manning, 40 percent of the first downs made by the team have come on first down, the highest percentage of any college football team during this time. So your narrative is false from the get-go.Nothing will change due to new personnel. Run for 2 yards, run for -2 yards, completed pass for 8 yards, punt. Wash, rinse repeat. Manning just sucks and it is sad CMC stays with his buddy.

Now that you mentioned it, time out while the play is under further review. This has been nagging at me.
“At the helm”, not “under” it.
The real issue has been the quality of offensive line play. You are talking about symptoms of the core issue: our offensive lines have performed at a "C" level. Get it to a B level and everything else will fall into place. We are not elite schematically or with play calling. People bring up how our offensive numbers are good, but sometimes that is screwed with teams like UNLV and Louisiana Monroe. In a lot of big games over the last 3 years, they have had some rough outings. With that said, I wonder how much better the offense will look with a QB that can be comfortable stepping up into the pocket? As good as Purdy was for us, he wouldn't do that.
Against physical teams like Iowa and Baylor, we are not going to beat them at their game. A conservative offense does not win those games. We have to figure out how to exploit them. Kind of how Purdue and Northwestern have been able to do against Iowa over the years.
Brock had happy feet because a lot of the time he was running for his life.Honest question but what would you have wanted Manning to do differently last year? IMO Brock having happy feet was probably our achilles heel last ear. That and having multiple o-lineman playing out of position.
The last thing safeties do if you spread it out all the time is "cheat up.". They cheat up when you pound them with running game and an occasional RPO.If there's one knock to be made on CMC and Manning it's that they get sucked into playing Iowa's game every damn year. We try to out Iowa, Iowa and it backfires every single time. I wish we would just spread them out and just chip away at them like Purdue does. Eventually that opens up the homerun ball once the safeties start to cheat up.
And a poor offensive line.2018 Zeb Noland at QB. OK. Pathetic performance.
If he couldn't see over his line then why did he have a high completion percentage?Purdy had a weak arm, was afraid to run, and couldn't see over his line. He wasn't the only problem but there's a reason he would get locked down by good defenses. He is a Ken Dorsey. Good manager, average athlete.
Wrong.Honestly, I think it says more about the condition of the 49ers QB room than it does about Brock...
