I would like to see some type of mixtape of Rock and Rap. I'm sorry for all of you "old school" people, but that's what gets the players and students amped up. Which undoubtedly makes for a better game all around.

The year is 2016. 90s HipHop is now old school, whether our more senior fans care to believe it or not.

I think something from that era would be a good compromise between new stuff and the classics.

Exactly! Young MC's "Bust A Move" screams 90s.

I started thinking about this and listening to some music tonight after CW tweet about them asking for songs.

Yeah there is nothing like a 3 min chant in unison that isn't creepy. You are also very wrong IMO and can take your music snobbery elsewhere. How are you going to pump anyone up with music that nobody has ever heard? This isn't just about pumping up the players on the team. Its about creating an experience for the fans that isn't comparable anywhere else. Get the fans going first and then get the players going as the come out. Keep the people wanting to come back even if we lose, because we will lose some.

I think a mash up with lots of songs is the best way to go. I would love to see them start with something like Ion by Tool. Start it out so its barely audible during other activities and let it build slowly (hear some rumbles in the distance). Then I really like the first 1:30 of the start of the Gunz for Hire-Storm Warning. Then do something like the first 15 secs of Ride the Lighting, and intro to Nirvana Territoral Pissings (Everybody get together and love one another, right now), intro song, and then soon after players run onto the field let them pick the last song each week.

As a former professional musician on the side, I like the cut of this guy's jib.

In this thread: People posting horrible music ideas while being mocked by people posting horrible music ideas.

Bagpipes. That is all.

Doesn't matter. Do you watch any other venue? What gets crowds fired up? What does KU do at Allen Fieldhouse? We have the speakers that can play bass heavy songs, why not get the beat going...

He's not saying that rap in general can't be used cause it's corny, he's saying that rap song in particular is corny. Which it is. I can get behind money and the power suggested earlier, but then again I'm less than 45.
