Things I learned on Twitter today. Former Hawk and WNBA player Megan Gustafsson published a kids book about her and the WNBA's official corgi, Pancake. Sort of fun stuff. Also managed to get engaged and get her MBA this year from Iowa.
Good for her. The children's book space is brutal and highly competitive.
Lol, that's awesome, good for her. Not easy. So many would-be writers who are a little daunted by the idea of writing fiction just assume they can more easily break into the children's book space... less words, less chapters, less complicated stories and characters, just overall a much "easier" thing to write. Not true at all.Met a gal a few years ago while birding at a local nature center. Walked and talked with her for quite bit and she said she was writing and illustrating a kids book about birds. Showed me an image on her phone of birds she had drawn, they were mostly plump depictions of common birds. Now, a few years later, I see her books in stores along with cards and little stuffed bird animals based on her drawings. Pretty cool. I respect and admire all of the work she has done to promote that and get it all together like she has.

And now, after my pitch for Heather's Little Birdies, back to our regularly featured topic, thee WNBA.![]()
WNBA League Pass is only $13/month. They air most of the games that aren't on ESPN/ABC/NBC/etc. and the quality is pretty good. For those in the thread not just to diss the WNBA, the Minnesota Lynx (probably still without Collier) will play at the Fever (without Clark and a whole slew of their players) tonight on ION at 6:30. Een with the teams marquee players out it's still a chance to see Cyclone Bridget Carleton play on something other than the regional for crap streaming service for the MN pro teams.
Lynx lost last night but Carleton started and had 16 points in 36 minutes of play.
I think there is an ever-lower cost option (I want to say $7.99/$8.99) if you already have a streaming service - i.e. Amazon Prime/ YTTV. It's how my wife follows the league, but you cannot watch games on the WNBA app, only through the streamers app.WNBA League Pass is only $13/month. Ah, that sucks.Blackouts, man, blackouts. At least for me living in Minnesota. Like my MLB Yankee team package blacked me out for the Twins games, even the ones played in NY.
And getting $20'd to death on subscription this and subscription that so had to cut some stuff and that included NBA TV, MLB TV and the Bally group that does the MN pro teams.
