you get some crazies on those baby/women's forums.

Tor
Ryddick
Elektra

I know two of those were used for sure. The third was the female choice if baby was not born male.

My baby name picks are so normal compared to the ridiculous cutesy/awful names going around now. They'll end up being Presidents and CEO's because they'll be the only ones with names people can take seriously, haha. One of my husband's cousins is due soon and already has a name picked out - extra y's and all.

I was sharing with my sister in law about how we were looking at the meanings of names and that was our main decision for choosing. I was surprised that she hadn't even thought about the meanings.

I know of three families with these names for their respective child

Hayden
Kinnick
Nile

Of course, I don't think any of the six parents attended the U of Iowa. pathetic

Hayden is a nice name for a small female child----but to name a boy after that cheat'n crook Hayden Fry? good gawd

Our house was built on land sold to the developer by Harry Ball.

Knew a guy in the navy who's name was Larry Eader but his rank was Seaman. Seaman Eader.

That dude was desperately motivated to make PO. When I was at Camp LeJuene there was a Marine Captain last name America, no ****.

Hayden is lame as hell but I can understand the Nile Kinnick thing. He was a Heisman Trophy winner and died in service to our country. And by all accounts was a great person and headed for great things. Sadly, his legacy is a bunch of redneck kids who live in trailer parks with daddies who drive '89 Silverados with truck nuts.

I run into all sorts of great names at my work. I've seen Roger Rodgers, Lucas Sky Walker and twins named Joseph and Joey and their middle names are Dupree and Supree. Great parents!!

I asked a friend about this since she's a teacher, and these are some of her favorites:

Thundyr
Stryker
Special
Ryder
Trigger (which would be cool if the kid had more than a .00000000000035% chance of growing up to quarterback the Dallas Cowboys)
Gyna (pronounced "jean-uh", even if only 1/350 people would ever actually think that)
Glock (my personal favorite)

Plus Dakota(h) for both boys and girls, and apparently ever other kid now is named Nevaeh (heaven spelled backwards, so new age!!!). This trend of substituting "y" for "I" (and sometimes "e", apparently) is so incredibly white trash. I really do think the world will look like Idiocracy someday, only it will be much sooner than we think.

What ever happened to nice names like Ellen, Angie, and CLONECONES?

Having worked with medical records, I've seen some doozies. Saw a newborn baby boy named Talon. Also saw a patient named Crystal Glass. A co-worker who's a registered nurse said that when she used to work the floor, they had a patient called Tad Moredick.

My husband's former co-worker has a son named Blaze. (I believe the son is now college-aged) Then there's my husband's cousin's kids....Atticus, Diedrich, Lincoln, and Thea Belle.

Many years ago, my mom, dad, aunt, and uncle were playing a game called "Go to the Head of the Class". My aunt reads a card as "Spell 'rare-riffy'" My mom and dad were confused, so she repeated it, and they were still baffled. They finally looked at the card, and the word was "rarify". My aunt was a second grade teacher for nearly 40 years.

I've seen some porn that had this for a plot.
