They were cocky when they were ranked in the top 5 (Bringing the Mountaineers Back Down to Earth ~ Student of the Game blog from a TTU player). They have fallen a LONG ways but what's surprising to me is that a team that hadn't won since early Oct was still displaying such arrogance. Maybe delusional or out of touch with reality would be a better description.

The old "we're great but got absolutely housed for a month and a half" syndrome.

I guess it would be a close comparison on how we feel about Rich Rod...

Why? He never coached here. Paul Rhoads would be a better example but he has our ADs full support so he won't be tempted to leave like RR was.
