My opinions of OU are independent of my opinions of any other Big 12 team. OU looked pretty vulnerable against a Texas team that has their own issues. One of the best defenses OU had was to simply let Isaiah Taylor think he was open for a jumper. I feel a lot more confident in KU's game @OU than I did two weeks ago is all. Still gotta survive the assault and battery that is West Virginia tonight. Hopefully KU can play with some defensive energy from the jump.

If OU looked vulnerable in a win against a ranked team what did Kansas look like when they got blown out by a bad Oklahoma State team?

tuco's usual "the opponent didn't win, but KU lost" argument is going to work against him here.

Not to defend Tuco, but every team hits a low point. Is KU's over? We will find out tonight. OU is in a minor one right now, and it could easily carry over into Saturday.

of course that game was a low point and not indicative of their team. But tuco ignores it. He is saying that Oklahoma isn't that good because of s loss at Kansas state and a close win against Texas. But doesn't acknowledge their own ****** loss.

I don't see how OU beating a ranked team means they are in a minor funk. They lost to K State, Kansas probably will lose there again too

I just feel bad for the refs who have to work this game. Nonstop ******** and hollering from both coaches from tip-off to the final horn. I can't think of two less likable coaches in the Big 12, maybe in all of college basketball. I hope the game goes five overtimes and both teams fade from the conference title race due to exhaustion.

I think Buddy hitting that shot last night may help him to get going again. I'm certain OU can get fired up for ku at home, for possibly the conference championship, on Saturday. I'm also sure ku will be ready to play Saturday too, especially if they win tonight.

I dont think he was saying OU is not a good team...he way saying right now they look vulnerable, and I agree. KU has looked vulnerable at times, but they have a chance to put their past games behind them tonight, while OU has to wait until Saturday to prove they are no longer vulnerable.

If you dont think they are in a minor funk right now then you haven't been watching. They are far from the same team they have been all season.

Fran brought it up last night, and I've wondered it for sometime, but during a timeout, right after a call went against Texas, the refs went by the Texas huddle, and had to listen to Texas assistants ******** directly towards him.

Why even put yourself in that position? As soon as it's a timeout, all 3 refs should go to the opposite side of the court. The call is over, right or wrong, the ref has to live with it.

I just think if a ref makes a call, then realizes it may not have been right, then has to listen to a coach ***** in his ear, then he may feel persuaded to give the team in the wrong, the benefit of the doubt on the next close call. When in a perfect scenario, each situation is an independent event.

The problem with WV is that the refs get confused by all the fouling and it renders them really inconsistent. That makes for a chippy, choppy, scrappy game. Which is exactly what Huggy Bear wants. It really hurts the more skilled team.

It's similar to when a team wants to dictate a fast or slow tempo to the game, when it is to their favor and not to the other teams favor. Except instead of tempo, its a wrestling match.

As for tonight, the refs will be out in force to stop Huggy. Unless KU plays poorly (and they have been lately) they will win.

Way up there

Struggling with Texas doesn't make them vulnerable though, Texas is really good, remember the same Texas team that KU struggled with at home a week or so ago. By your assessment, if KU doesn't blow out WV tonight, they will be vulnerable again too? All of this is ignoring that KU has the worst loss of any contender in the conference and its not even close. OU's loss was in a gym that no one on their team has ever won at, a place they have "vulnerable" for years.

Im not discrediting anything Texas is doing. However, In their last two games, OU has struggled to score the basket far more than they have all year. I realize KU has struggled this season, but IMO, they are too good of a team, coached by a great coach, to struggle like that the entire season. If KU struggles with WV tonight, it will show me they are continuing to struggle. However, as I said, if KU takes care of WV tonight and looks good doing it, KU has a great shot at winning in Norman, because it would show me that one team is in a funk, and the other is not. None of this is ignoring KU's loss to OU; however, Texas lost to TCU, and I'm pretty sure that is the worst loss of any of the contenders, and its not even close.

To help the Big 12 race and our extremely slim chance, we need a KU win.

That being siad, I'd love to see Huggy Bear shut up the Jayhawk fans and all but guarantee they aren't winning the crown.

I wouldn't mind seeing a WV win. But I think KU gets payback in a big way. And, if OU plays (shoots) the way they have their last two games, it could mean a KU win again Saturday. Hope not.
