Reading the application for the warrant leads me to believe that this was a tough decision. But probably best move for all parties.
Is that application for the warrant public to read and if so, would you mind linking it?

Oct 2020? Why stick with him that long just to send him packing now? Not a great look for anyone.
From the article on the register, it sounds like the victim decided to pursue legal action this summer. If I interpreted it correctly. Although that still doesn’t clear up how much the staff knew about it prior to that

The Iowa State Daily learned of the search warrant in June and initially contacted the athletics department, who did not have any knowledge of the ongoing investigation during the summer.

“I don’t have a comment on that,” said a representative of Iowa State men’s basketball when asked to comment on the matter in a phone call July 28. “This is the first thing I’m hearing of this.”

Uh, major yikes here.

I mean, we did have one within this basketball program a few years ago, so it does happen. Not saying this is or isn’t true, but judgement can and should be reserved until more is made public.

This is totally OT but that isn't the lesson to be learned from that case.

I’m referring to him being kicked off. TJ should have kicked him off the minute he found out. Big time drain on the program.

I'm sure TJ wanted to have time to look into himself and get a feel for what happened. Fake claims against athletes are fairly common. Based on what some other have said, he wasn't doing what was supposed to on or off the field.

The daily knew of this in June.
The team said end of July its the first they've heard of it.

So that means they're lying or X never told them.

Right. It's also possible someone in the MBB program knew, but not whichever program "representative" was asked by the daily.
