Show some respect to Aretha people.

And a man I heard in person at some ISU commencements, Simon Estes.

And a woman there just for an amazing range, Christina Aguilera.

And a unique sound, Janis Joplin.

Some of my other faves already mentioned: James Taylor, Bing Crosby, Diana Ross, Stevie Nicks, and if I am trying to karaoke, Whitney Houston.

And gee, how could I forget the woman who can sing anything, Kelly Clarkson.
Aretha and Janis had iconic voices. Throw in Etta James, too.

I have so many voices that I love for various reasons. Freddie Mercury, Bobby Blue Bland, Michael Jackson, Adele, Sia, Nora Jones, Joe Cocker, John Fogerty, Sinatra, Aloe Blacc, Dolly Parton. And yeah, Kelly Clarkson has a pretty incredible range.

Testifying
Seeing some Layne Staley shout outs.
Layne and Jerry could absolutely harmonize perfectly together. Their 2 voices at the same time were as good as it gets.

Layne story is just so so so sad. Just so many demons and life problems.
Honestly Jessie from Breaking Bad reminded me of Layne.

It's sad how the cycle goes for so many and as time goes on they can't get out of their own way.

Leigh Nash (Sixpence None the Richer) has a very unique voice. Love her sound.

...and then there's (Iron Maiden's) Bruce Dickinson. Dude can just bring it.

I've always found Ozzy to be so distinctive. The early Sabbath with him is just magic.

But I have to echo the females that have been mentioned:

Aimee Mann
Karen Carpenter
Chrissy Hynde

Love all those

Oh, and Glenn Danzig of course...
