I havent commented in this thread, but I am sick of seeing the Paul Rhoads GIFs everywhere. The guy is a GIF waiting to happen. If he was winning, ok fine, but he isn't. I cant imagine Pollard enjoys watching these antics on the sideline since he is such a standup guy. I mean look at the demeanor of Hoiberg on the sidelines, reminds me so much of Pollard's approach.
I don't know. I feel like Pollard would have a Rhoads-like reaction if someone cleated his son and it wasn't called in cross country. And I'm being serious when I say that.

I call up Chizik, say "Our fans hate you but you should be back in college football." Make the DB our d-coordinator and let him recruit.

Actually Texas' amazing roster of gifted athletes 8-10 years ago masked Chizik's deficiencies as a defensive coordinator and coaching the DB's
Texas just outscored people, and Chizik's DB's (many were NFL-caliber) were TORCHED occasionally

I think it would be a poor idea.
Todd Dodge was one of the top high school coaches in the country. He was 98-11 at Southlake Carroll. In his last five years there, he played in the state championship game five years in a row and won four of them (TX 5A Division II). That title game loss was his only loss in those 5 years. He won a couple of National Coach of the Year type awards from different publications, including USA Today.
Dodge then took the head coaching job at UNT, and won six games in four years. I doubt that you'll be seeing a Power 5 FBS school offer a head football coach position to a high school coach anytime soon...

If someone did, the "Gerry Faust" stories would pile up quickly.
I'm sure someone would make an argument around Gus Malzahn or Art Briles, but there are probably some other factors there, like coordinator time and all, and that they just might work at a different level than most coaches do.

But someone pointed out to me that it might just mean he wants to go home from the library, so there's a chance it doesn't mean what we think it might. :twitcy:
That's yours (and apparently JP's) opinion, but his record says just the opposite with three winning seasons and 4 post season wins during his 3 year stint. That's one of the better 3 year stretches in ISU basketball history. And actually his 2nd team that made it to and advanced in the NCAA tourney played pretty good D.
I would go bold and cancel the Iowa game in future years, uni too. Even if that means breach of contract payments. Schedule some cup cakes next year for whatever the price. We need 3 wins built in. To get some traction. Period. He has to think realistically. Kansas under mangino and KSU or NDSt didn't get built with hard shedules. Kids want to win and will go to schools they can.
It isn't fair because (1) we don't even know that anything was said, (2) we don't know who was saying it, (3) we don't know how widespread it is. If it is just some third-stringer exaggerating, then it isn't fair. There are always going to be disgruntled players on a team.
