I find CMC's comments interesting about good he feels about the QB position depth with or without Zeb. I know he has to say that probably, but I sure don't feel very good about it without Zeb.

Add to that, CMC also has no problem with Purdy's aggressive play either.

So we have Purdy, who is taking a tremendous amount of big hits with how he plays, sitting at #1.

At #2 we have Kempt who didn't look good in his limited time against Iowa, coming off of injury and was in a boot 2 weeks ago in street clothes against WV, and hasn't played now for quite a while.

At #3 we probably have Mitchell who has never played a single down of college football. He's more of a runner than passer too.

At #4 is likely Devon Moore. Complete unknown.

I'm sorry coach, but without Zeb, we could be in trouble the remainder of this season with any injuries.

If this is true, would we now look to add another QB to next year's class? We have Easton Dean coming in next year, and Bouman the following year.
You genuinely think you know more than the guys that the entire year coaching these kids? Damn impressive.

Seems like a really good kid, and talented enough to start elsewhere. He's just caught behind a freshman sensation, and with Kempt back, third string with a likelihood of 2nd string for the rest of his career (barring injury) is a tough future to consider. Definitely wish him the best if he is indeed transferring.
He did an interview the week of celia’s Murder. He was impressive in his words.

I am all for more players rights regarding transferring, etc. But I definitely am not a fan of the NCAAF trend where if a player isn't starting they just check out and don't care anymore. At what point will teams not have legitimate backup qbs and rbs halfway through the season when they realize they wont start. I hope Zeb is ok whatever is going on but I really wish he would be there for the team the rest of the season if this is truly all that is going on.

You think we win 8 (really 9) games last year with Park as our quarterback? If you do, you are the crazy one.

Yes, because we have a good team and the margin for error narrative is in part because of the limited QB play.

I have no idea of whether it is relevant, but didn't Jared say that our next QB commit was on campus this weekend?

Probably true but it would be nice to red shirt Dean.

Zeb has three choices.(unless he gets a waiver)
Transfer to a FCS play two years.
Transfer to a FBS sit one play one.
Stay one as #2 then Grad transfer.
He already has some good film and would likely get more next season as well.

Zeb has asked for a leave from the team. It could be for family issues or he could be focused on something at school to keep grades up. I do not have any information, just speculation. On leave from team does not me out of school.

The timing of out of the bye week is curious for me. Perhaps Kempt is back as #2 and Mitchell is playing so well in practice that he is #3 (or even #2) and this was apparent during the bye week. Then perhaps coaches discussed in the QB room of wanting to get Mitchell into 4 games to see what he can do. Zeb is looking at maybe being #4 on depth chart and behind 2 freshmen. Again, also don't know the status of Moore.

If Zeb is now thinking of transferring, he needs to have his academics right and not risk injury. But perhaps it is nothing more than needing a week or two to take care of something in his personal or academic life and he returns to the team. CMC said nothing negative about Zeb and seemed very open to Zeb making a decision and the coaches accepting that.

Don't blame him for transferring. In fact, I expected it. I did NOT expect him to quit on his team during the season when he still might be needed. It's a bush league move and I am ashamed of him if that is, indeed, what has happened.

I would agree. The posters saying no big deal probably have never been a member of a competitive athletic team.

What are all of these HUGE hits that Purdy is taking? Has he even been shaken up? Had to come out for any plays? I’ve seen him get tackled but I haven’t seen any crazy hits that he’s taken.

TTU was actively attempting to hurt him and they couldn’t even succeed with that.

He was rocked more than a few times first half... Noticed he was sliding WWAAYY more in the 2nd. Whether it's 1 big hit or multiple little hits, his style of play is conducive to getting knocked out of a play or 2 every now and again.

And all that **** about how proud he was of Brock and the QB room being family...********.

If it truly is a serious illness or family tragedy, I'll apologize. Anything else and he's nothing more than a quitter and, indeed, a loser.

And that’s someone you would want on your team for the rest of the season?
