Kevin Anderson, a girl's basketball blogger from Minnesota, had this to say about a game between the All Iowa Attack 17U and the NE CSS Bison 17U. Those two teams have several players that the Clones are recruiting for the 2011 class.

Out & About: All IA Attack Jensen 17/NE CSS Bison

MIDWEST CLASSIC, 16 Championship, Ames IA, Sunday 6.13.2010
ALL IOWA ATTACK 16s 56, NE CSS BISON 48.
This broke the pattern. AIA got out to an 8-0 lead and
never trailed in the championship game. This was a game of feast and famine. The Bison had their first 8 possessions famine, and then the next six feast as they battled back to a 19-14 deficit. At the same time the Attack was scoring five straight times, so no real ground was made up. Both teams fell into a siesta mode for the next 8 minutes and AIA led 25-20 at the break. Scoring picked up again in the second half with 13 of the first 23 combined possessions going for scores. The famine portion reared its head in the next 22 possessions with only 5 combined scores. The Attack lead came in the 7 to 3 point window. With 2 minutes left Taylor Moore drained a 3 for the Bison cutting the margin to 47-43. That kicked off a flourish of scoring with seven combined scores in the last 11 possessions.
Notes: Emily Cady of the Bison led all scorers with 17 points. Markisha Wright had 15 points to lead the Attack. ...take away the start for the Bison and the game was even.

We talk about all these second-tier players from Okla., Missouri, etc., but I'd love it if BF would offer all three DM East girls - Wright, Butts, and even Gaines. They all are great competitors, and are used to being pushed hard physically by Sam Powell.

could this be a verbal commitment?

ISUCoachFen
Gotcha!!

No, I think he was referring to this:

lyndshoops -- @ISUCoachFen -- "Don't leave it short. Give it a chance to be called a strike!" #wishiwasthere and Good LUCK! :)

as he is throwing out the first pitch at an I Cubs game today.

Here's an updated list

Open schollies:
6 (including the ones for Ellis and Moody)

Verbals:

Fallon Ellis (Missouri City, TX) 5'11" Wing
Nichole Moody (Euless, TX) 5'9" PG/2G

Rumored offers:

Taylor Greenfield (Huxley, IA) 6'3" 2G/Wing
Emily Cady (Seward, NE) 6'2" PF
Joey Bailey (Gunter, TX) 6'3" SF
Alex Cohen (Bayside, WI) 6'5" C
Markisha Wright (DSM, IA) 6'2" F/C
Kamra King (Norman, OK) 5'5" PG

Other likely possibilities:
Katie Hempen (Highland, IL) 5'9" 2G
Carlie Needles (Parker, CO) 5'7" PG
Brynn Williamson (Kansas City, MO) 6'0" F
Anyone know if any of the three above have been offered?

Other names thrown out there:

Kiah Stokes (Marion, IA) 6'3" C (very unlikely to pick ISU)
Sharonda Butts (DSM, IA) 5'7" PG (reportedly ISU isn't targeting her)
Emma Meeseman (Belgium) 6'3" C (Might be 2012 instead of 2011. ISU may not actually be looking at her. Who knows?)

Williamson is coveted and the admiration goes both ways.
Really high on her and she is getting better.
Her athleticism is really great
