Im going to join that site out of curiosity, but its going to be an absolute cesspool within a few hours after launch.
Meh, depends on your definition of cesspool. I have a pretty strong feeling it's going to look like this place does between 8-5 with a healthy share of the same people.

You drinking that same hallucinogen Kool Aid that @CyTwins is drinking? You guys are absolutely tripping if you think Prohm is even close to the coach that Fred was.

My bad, wasn't following along all that closely. I thought the argument was Prohm or Mad Fran, Didn't realize the argument was Fred or Prohm. The Prohm/Fran was a no brainer for me.

Who decommitted?

Mike Bruner, Iowa's first 2018 commit. Posted the following, I got it off @bddivide's twitter page.

You're right, a website that gets great traffic doesn't interest advertisers at all. Back on topic.... There's no way you can argue Mad Fran > Prohm Mashup. You can argue Ferentz > Rhoads, Iowa Football > Iowa State Football all you want but your other argument has no merit.

LOL if CMC flipped him... My guess is that he is picking up an offer from WI.

Reading some of Rob Howe's tweets yesterday he kept saying it's just a case of a kid committing somewhere too early and not realizing the grass may be greener elsewhere. Time will tell I guess.

And I dont know what it is about the first kid that verbals to Iowa in each class but we do not have a good track record in getting them to campus:

2018: Brunner (decommit)
2017: Juan Harris (decommit 57 times)
2016: Nathan Stanley (signed with Iowa)
2015: Jake Newborg (signed with Iowa)
2014: Ross Pierschbacher (decommit)
2013: David Kenney (decommit)

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, this isnt the first or last early iowa commit to jump ship.

He put up some pretty poor numbers at The Opening in Chicago a few weeks back.

This may be a blessing in disguise for Iowa.

Oh how things change...

Looking ahead to the 2018 class, Iowa already has 2 commits. If they are good enough to earn an early offer from the Iowa staff, who is renowned for their ability to identify talent, then they must have some great potential.

I don't think it's an Iowa thing. I think it's just a recruiting thing. It can happen one of a few different ways.

1. Recruit jumps the gun on a commitment and wants time to think it out.
2. Recruit gets recognized by a school early before better offers for them come in late (flips).
3. Recruit gets over recruited by better players later in the class.
4. Recruit doesn't progress or like coaches thought when they offered.

I'm sure I am missing a possibility or two as well. For example: I have no idea what you'd call the Juan Harris ordeal.

NAME GRAD YR POS SCHOOL-STATE HT WT 40Y SH PB VJ RATING

Bruner, Mike 18 LB Homestead (WI) - WI 6-2 219 5.07 4.31 34.5 31.6 83.73

https://www.theopening.com/2017-chicago-results
I hope he finds a school he likes and can find playing time. Probably saw the numbers the other LB commit for Iowa put up:

Doyle, Dillon 18 LB West (Iowa City) - IA 6-2.5 209 4.88 4.22 39.5 34.6 103.83

Doyle rated 103.83, Bruner at 83.73. Yikes.

Agreed, recruiting is very fluid.

So Ferentz didn't evaluate this talent very well is what you're saying. Something he used to do so well and you wonder why I'd rather have Campbell over a coach who is slipping in his old age
