As previously mentioned, their arrogance and entitlement. They really had it made in this conference and really ran it to meet their needs. The rest of the members allowed them to get what they wanted because we realized that we were better off with them due to the media value the provided. But in the end, they were just a poor neighborhood and saw everything as transactional; if it helped us, it didn't help them.

Additionally, the constant whining by them as well. As discussed here previously in other threads, their history isn't all that great. It's defiantly very good, but it's not Michigan, OSU, Alabama, Notre Dame etc. type history. But they seem to think they belong in that category. Their history shows that they're just below the true-blue bloods of College Football. But they still whine about their lack of success, despite it being self-inflicted a lot of the time.

And lastly to add, the reason they are leaving is because the SEC is able to offer more media money than if they had stayed in the Big12, despite having the largest budget already in all of college, and still getting good to very good results, but just not exceptional results like you'd expect them to.

Texas should have done everything they could since the beginning of the big 12 to turn the big 12 into what you now know as the SEC.

Instead, they complained the whole time and took steps to either purposely ruin the league, or to prevent the league from thriving.

They upended the Big 8, ruined the Big 12, ruined great rivalries, forced us to be broadcast on their stupid network and lied to eight members. They hated coming to Ames, yet, we were the ones who saved their butt from the sinking ship that was known as the SWC and all at the same time, complain that we don’t “appreciate” their status in college football. Pretty much what Jarrod Hufford said. Their crap doesn’t stink. They are the epitome of a spoiled brat rich kid. Good riddance.

As others have stated their arrogance knows no bounds, they are the richest athletic department in the country, and it's not enough. They have to be the center of attention in everything they touch. Can't fill a basketball arena for the games, no problem, just build a smaller arena. Can't have a conference network to broadcast everyone's games, but we have to have our own network.

The conference will be better off without them, hell when we took the four SWC teams, the league would have been better off taking Houston that UT and been down with it.
