Been there twice now. Stay close to downtown if you can for Friday and Saturday night fun. Saturday morning ride the PRT train to get out toward campus and stadium. Usually the DC alumni club hosts an event at Mountain Mama's bar the morning of the game. Hit that up for a couple of hours, then...
We went to the pregame at Mountain Mama's a couple years ago, then started walking to the stadium about 90 minutes before kick. Bought a 6 pack at the neighboring gas station to make the walk to the stadium through the lots, although plenty of beers will be handed to you in the lots...
Second Warhol museum. Pirates game. If you're into cycling, do part of the Great Allegheny Passage. Do one of the funiculars (trams that go up the hill side). Johnstown is 1.5 hrs east, site of one of the worst disasters in US history, a flood that killed 2200 people, lots of history there...
Single game tickets through WVU went on sale this past Tuesday. We went in 2019 and had a blast. Nicest fan base in Big 12, and beautiful area. Bought our tickets in section 204 and booked a hotel this week.
Sure, in this specific scenario (which I've never heard of happening anywhere else, and I wouldn't endorse in a rural area) bike lanes would be subsidized.
My example was speaking more to urbanized areas, where you typically see these sort of things.
This is a common misconception. While gas tax funds most of roadway construction and maintenance for state owned roads, more general funds are being used from the federal level for state owned roads (and local roads that get federal funds)...
The point of the conversion from one-way to two-way is to make the street feel less like an expressway and more like a neighborhood collector. With the addition of bike lanes and other amenities that add "friction" to the street, speeds will drop such that crashes (if they happen) will be less...
I lived in North Carolina for a couple of years and almost all school districts are broken down like this. In this system, to use Boone County as an example, there might be two high schools, Boone East and Boone West. Both schools are located along highway 30 somewhere to balance transportation...
Hmm I'm curious about this too. Been holding off on the sling resubscription until I'm actually at home to watch, and I see next weekend is on FSN again. I'm in Philly, which is Comcast territory, not FSN. Sounds like I might be out of luck and I'll have to hit a bar.
Carmax (or similar places) won't want it. They want cars under 100k miles. I tried to sell my 150k '08 Altima and they low balled offered me $2000. Said if I took the offer, they would simply park it out back and just wait to take it to auction. Sold it for $4500 on Craigslist instead.
Considering the minimal wear bikes put on roads, and the increasing amount of general funds going to pay for those roads, cyclists probably have more "right" to the roads than automobiles.

JFK museum, Ft. Worth Stockyards, Jerry World tour, Rangers game (if they are in town), Perot Museum, any number of breweries (Lakewood or Deep Ellum are favorites). Uptown for bar hopping, Bishop Arts for dinner, Smoke in West Dallas for brunch.
